Debate: McAuliffe's Gaffe: "I Don't Care What Grade I Got From the NRA" - Bearing Drift - Short version this evening? Ken Cuccinelli demolished Terry McAuliffe. We’re talking as high as 2:1 margins in informal polling on WDBJ-7 and here on Bearing Drift. Cucccinelli had three golden moments, two where the punches connected and one where McAuliffe bizarrely punched himself in the face. 1: ”ALL PUPPY, NO PLAN.” Cuccinelli took direct aim at McAuliffe at a number of points for being all platitudes and no substance, at one time comparing McAuliffe’s approach to bringing home a puppy without having the first idea of how to take care of the poor animal. Cuccinelli was off the cuff, and it was the only moment in the entire debate where the crowd audibly laughed. Great line… 2: Moderator castigating McAuliffe for not answering the questions. Early. Way to go. 3. ”I Don’t Care What Grade I Got From The NRA.” Very soon, ladies and gentlemen, there will be a clip on this portion of the debate… because the question was concerning the option of teachers and administrators to carry firearms on school property, a question McAuliffe immediately translated into college campuses and college carry and so forth… where McAuliffe wandered into the Virginia Tech shootings six years ago, more platitudes, and then let loose on his opinion on gun control and background checks… including this line. It was unmistakable what McAuliffe was telling the crowd. McAuliffe didn’t care about the Second Amendment. He would do everything he could to pursue gun control. Read more......

Exclusive....Poll: Virginia Governor's Race a Tossup - Brietbart - A new poll, provided exclusively to Breitbart News, finds the Virginia Governor's race a virtual dead-heat, with Democrat Terry McAuliffe leading Republican Ken Cuccinelli 41%-40%. Libertarian Robert Sarvis garners 10% and 9% of likely voters who remain undecided. With less than two weeks to go, the race is a toss-up that will likely be decided by turnout, a critical factor in an off-year election. The poll comes from Wenzel Strategies, which accurately predicted closing momentum for Sens. Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Deb Fischer, among others. The slight edge McAuliffe holds is due mostly to stronger support within his partisan base. 81% of Democrats support McAuliffe, against just 68% of Republicans who support Cuccinelli. Cuccinelli's support seems be building, however, as public attention moves away from the recent government shutdown to the failing implementation of ObamaCare. Cuccinelli was a leading national figure suing to overturn the health care law. Read more......... Article contributed by Steve Peters.

(2) Lawmakers: Sebelius Failed at Government Website Projects Prior to Serving in Obama Administration - Daily Caller - Obama administration Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius’ failure at designing websites to provide government services began during her term as governor of Kansas, long before the Obamacare website debacle, Kansas political insiders told The Daily Caller. Sebelius oversaw numerous costly and disastrous government website projects during her six-year governorship (2003-2009), including a failed update of the Department of Labor’s program to provide unemployment pay and other services and similar updates pertaining to the Department of Administration and the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) services. The Department of Labor’s overhaul of its computer programs was a notable boondoggle, according to 14-year former Kansas state senator and former state Labor Secretary Karin Brownlee. (3) 16 Million May Lose Their Health Insurance Plans Because of Obamacare - NY Times - More Americans May Lose Coverage Than are Signed Up Via the Exchange - American Thinker - This number doesn't include the number of workers who will lose their employer-based insurance coverage. The 16 million figure is from the individual insurance market. This includes some families but mostly the self-employed. It's also important to note that this is a feature, not a bug, of Obamacare. The ACA was designed to destroy the individual insurance market, largely because health insurance gurus see it as "inefficient." Weekly Standard: According to health policy expert Bob Laszewski, roughly 16 million Americans will lose their current plans because of Obamacare: The U.S. individual health insurance market currently totals about 19 million people. Because the Obama administration's regulations on grandfathering existing plans were so stringent about 85% of those, 16 million, are not grandfathered and must comply with Obamacare at their next renewal. (4) Ft. Hood Soldier Says Army Warned Then Off Tea Party Christian Evangelical Groups, said They were Enemies of America - Washington Times - Don’t donate to the tea party or to evangelical Christian groups — that was the message soldiers at a pre-deployment briefing at Fort Hood said they received from a counter-intelligence agent who headed up the meeting. If you do, you could face punishment — that was the other half of the message, as reported by Fox News. The briefing was Oct. 17, and about a half-hour of it was devoted to discussion about how perceived radical groups — like tea party organizations and the Christian-based American Family Association — were “tearing the country apart,” one unnamed soldier said, to Fox News. Among the remarks the agent allegedly made: Military members who donate to these groups would be subject to discipline under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, the soldier reported.......“The American public should be outraged that the U.S. Army is teaching our troops that evangelical Christians and tea party members are enemies of America and that they can be punished for supporting or participating in those groups,” Mr. Berry said, in Fox News. “These statements about evangelicals being domestic enemies are a serious charge.” Read more.....
