'Truckers for the Constitution'- Plan to Slow D.C. Beltway, Emphasis will be on the Disregarding of the Constitution - U.S. News -UPDATE: The groups “Truckers to Shut Down America” and “Truckers Ride for the Constitution” claim they are the “founders” of the trucker movement but other groups are “out there spreading false information.” Ben Pam, an organizer for the latter group, told the Examiner that truckers are not planning on arresting any congressmen. “We do not intend to obstruct traffic or close down any roads,” he said. “We are not coming to arrest anyone.” He said the truckers only want to “awaken the American people to the complete disregard for the Constitution and bring a message to Congress that We The People demand to be heard.” Tractor-trailer drivers will intentionally clog the inner loop of the Washington, D.C., beltway beginning on the morning of Oct. 11, according to a coordinator of the upcoming "Truckers Ride for the Constitution" rally. Organizers of the three-day ride want to call attention to a litany of trucker frustrations and express their disapproval of national political leaders. Earl Conlon, a Georgia trucker who is handling logistics for the protest, told U.S. News tractor-trailer drivers will circle the beltway "three lanes deep" as he rides with other participants to Congress to seek the arrest of congressmen for allegedly disregarding the Constitution. The truckers circling I-495 will keep the left lane open for emergency vehicles, Conlon said, but "everybody that doesn't have a supporter sticker on their window, good luck: Nobody in, nobody out." The trucks will be going the 55 mile-per-hour speed limit. D.C. commuters who wish to be allowed past the convoy must have "T2SDA" – an acronym for the event's original name, "Truckers to Shut Down America" – written on their vehicle, he said. (2) Senate Democrats Plan Maneuver to Allow Obama to Raise Debt Ceiling - Newsmax - Senate Democrats could introduce legislation as soon as today that gives President Barack Obama the authority to raise the debt ceiling unless two-thirds of Congress disapproves, according to a Senate Democratic aide. An initial test vote on the proposal, described by the aide on condition of anonymity, could occur as soon as Oct. 11, just six days before federal borrowing authority is set to expire. Democrats have been pressing for a one-year increase in the nation’s $16.7 trillion debt ceiling without any of the spending cuts of policy changes Republicans are demanding. The method of giving Obama the authority to raise the debt ceiling barring a congressional disapproval was first proposed by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, in 2011 and became part of the Budget Control Act passed in August of that year. The Senate Democratic aide said that strategy could make it easier to get Republican votes because no Republican would have to vote directly for a debt-ceiling increase. (3) The People Must be Punished - In the Name of Loving the People, Socialism Very Quickly Turns on the People - American Thinker - The Left claims that their lives are consumed with concern for their fellow man and that their mission in life is to improve its lot. All it needs to do this is to take your money, your freedom and your soul. We all know who, in literature, offers this kind of deal. In politics there is another dimension. The logic of socialism is that the "general will" is manifested in a leader. Thus, socialism, which is allegedly the dispersion of power to every individual, in practice becomes the centralization of power in a single leader. In Cuba, Castro is Commandante. In North Korea, Kim Jong Il, the father of the incumbent, was Dear Leader. Mao was Chairman Mao. So, we have the leader of utopia and we have the masses below. Allegedly, the Leader loves the people. That is why he cares for them. Goebbels put it about that Hitler never slept because while Germans were sleeping, Hitler was watching over them. But the day comes when the people disappoint the Leader. The people fail to live up to the greatness of the Leader! Then what happens? The people must be scourged, must be punished. We have arrived at that point with Obama, the One. Read more......

(4) Obama's Foreign Policy Kills Christians - Townhall - While the temporary, partial government shutdown has riveted our nation, Christians are being martyred all over the world. The limited space of this column does not permit me to enumerate the long list of martyred Christians and the locations where Christians continue to be killed in cold blood. But needless to say, the violence stretches from Nigeria to Egypt to Iraq to Syria to Pakistan and beyond. The most tragic act of treachery recently committed by Islamists against innocent Christians took place in a church in Peshawar, Pakistan just a few weeks ago. There, 81 innocent worshipers were slaughtered, and many more were wounded, some permanently. The Western press, if they reported that tragedy at all, reported it as just another “day at the office,” as if it was unworthy of much news attention. Nothing to see here; move right along. (5) McAuliffe Finally Endorses Obama Administration's Anti-Coal Regulations, and it Only Took 12 Days - Hot Air - I missed it last week, but Democratic fundraiser extraordinaire and candidate for Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe finally came out with a firm position on whether or not he supports the Obama administration’s artfully spun approach to slowly but surely eliminating the coal industry, and, drumroll please he does. McAuliffe’s willing flip-floppiness on energy issues isn’t exactly a secret, but having said in the 2009 gubernatorial race that he “never wants another coal plant built” in Virginia, he stayed noticeably mum about the EPA’s de facto ban on new coal plants when the administration released them last month. No more, via WaPo:....When a reporter pressed McAuliffe on whether he supports the guidelines “as they are written right now,” McAuliffe responded: “I do, you bet. What I’ve looked at, I support what we need to do to obviously protect our air and our water.” Read more........
