(2) N.C. Lawmakers Pass Sweeping New Gun Laws - The Blaze - North Carolina lawmakers have approved a bill greatly expanding where concealed handguns are legally allowed. The Republican-backed bill approved by both the House and Senate on Tuesday allows concealed-carry permit holders to take firearms into bars and restaurants and other places where alcohol is served as long as the owner doesn’t expressly forbid it.
The measure will also allow concealed-carry permit holders to store weapons in locked cars on the campus of any public school or university. Guns will also now be allowed on greenways, playgrounds and other public recreation areas.
The final bill dropped a controversial provision that would have repealed the long-standing law requiring a background check and permit issued by county sheriffs for handgun purchases.
The measure now heads to Republican Gov. Pat McCrory’s desk.
(3) Senator Ted Cruz Issues Major Gay Marriage Warning for Pastors and Christians, Alike - The Blaze - Supporters of traditional marriage often fear the free speech ramifications that could emerge as as result of increasing support for gay marriage in the United States. But are these worries really legitimate?
In an interview with CBN’s David Brody, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, a Republican, joined in this chorus, warning that the push in favor of same-sex unions could, indeed, put First Amendment protections at risk.
“If you look at other nations that have gone down the road towards gay marriage, that’s the next step of where it gets enforced,” he said of hate speech regulations that are in place in other countries.
“It gets enforced against Christian pastors who decline to perform gay marriages, who speak out and preach biblical truths on marriage and that has been defined elsewhere as hate speech — as inconsistent with the enlightened view of government,” Cruz added. Read more......

(4) Air Force Chaplain's Online Essay, "No Atheists in Foxholes - Chaplains Gave All in World War II" - Written for Chaplain's Corner Column - REMOVED After Complaints - The Blaze - An Air Force chaplain’s essay that deals with universal faith was removed from his base’s Web site because it allegedly offended atheists, according to Fox News.
Lt. Col. Kenneth Reyes told Fox News he penned “No Atheists in Foxholes: Chaplains Gave All in World War II” for the Chaplain’s Corner column on the Web site of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska.
But the Military Religious Freedom Foundation reportedly accused Reyes of an “anti-secular diatribe” and publicly disparaging “those without religion” in a letter to the base commander, allegedly on behalf of 42 anonymous airmen who complained. “While certainly not intended to offend, the article has been removed from our website,” Col. Duffy wrote in an email to the MRFF. “We remain mindful of the governing instructions on this matter and will work to avoid recurrence.”
But that’s not good enough for the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. They want the chaplain punished for what he wrote.
“Faith based hate, is hate all the same,” Page wrote. “Lt. Col. Reyes must be appropriately reprimanded.” Read more.........
