Tea Party Patriots Organize Massive Rally in DC. 'Audit IRS' - June 19, 2013 - The Tea Party Patriots will organize a mass “Audit the IRS Rally” on June 19th in Washington, D.C. with local and national Tea Party groups to protest the IRS’s targeting of conservative organizations. Jenny Beth Martin, the co-founder of Tea Party Patriots, told Breitbart News that the targeted witnesses that testified before the House Ways and Means Committee on Tuesday “showed the IRS discrimination and abuse had very real consequences on the local coordinators of the groups affected.”"These were not faceless, amorphous ‘groups’ but real Americans who wanted to peacefully assemble,” Martin said. “Those in the hearings this week are a sample of the thousands of Americans who have been affected by the thuggish tactics of the IRS.”The Tea Party Patriots, a group that formed when the Tea Party movement officially launched in 2009, finally secured the permit to organize the event on Tuesday only after various delays. At one point in the permitting process, D.C. officials requested information from TPP in a serious of events the group’s leaders said would make “your blood boil” if “you despise government bureaucracy and big government in general.” In an e-mail blast to local and national Tea Party groups on Tuesday, Tea Party Patriots noted that the rally, starting at noon on the 19th, was important because the IRS scandal is one that crosses party lines and impacts Republicans, independents, and Democrats. ” Read more........

(2) Breaking FBI, NSA Massively Surveilling Date from 9 Internet Companies: Update: NBC News: Government Collecting Data on 'Every Call Made in America - Hot Air - Yesterday, the Guardian reminded us that the NSA is still trolling our phone records for data mining. Today, the Washington Post blows the cover on a massive surveillance program that until now only a few people had known about — until now. And unlike the NSA phone-records surveillance, this one went after content at nine major Internet service providers: The National Security Agency and the FBI are tapping directly into the central servers of nine leading U.S. Internet companies, extracting audio, video, photographs, e-mails, documents and connection logs that enable analysts to track a person’s movements and contacts over time. The highly classified program, code-named PRISM, has not been disclosed publicly before. Its establishment in 2007 and six years of exponential growth took place beneath the surface of a roiling debate over the boundaries of surveillance and privacy. Even late last year, when critics of the foreign intelligence statute argued for changes, the only members of Congress who know about PRISM were bound by oaths of office to hold their tongues. (3) Feds to Release Funds to Virginia after Cuccinelli Complains - Richmond Times DispatchAfter eight months of waiting, the Department of the Treasury on Wednesday agreed to release in excess of $100 million owed to Virginia for its role as lead investigator in a $1.5 billion court-approved Medicaid Fraud settlement with Abbott Pharmaceuticals. Officials in the office of Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli said the office expects to receive $115 million of the $125 million it says it is owed from the settlement. Read more......

Rep. Trey (4) Gowdy's EPIC Take-down of IRS at Hearing - Via Greg Hengler, it’s not about the money. It’s about the arrogance of power involved in these people flushing millions in taxpayer dollars on fun in the sun in Anaheim and not even caring enough to keep receipts for it while the rest of the country, including other government workers, was sweating out a terrible economy. Gowdy reaches the same conclusion I did in yesterday’s post on this — having reached this level of decadence on top of political targeting of conservative groups, the agency’s beyond minor repair. It’s time to think bigger. One interesting footnote to this: Republicans weren’t the only ones to launch into righteous rants about the IRS’s profligacy at today’s hearing. Democrat Elijah Cummings uncorked one of his own, which is the best evidence yet that the dopey “overreach” talking point that Plouffe et al. were trying to jumpstart in order to back the GOP off simply won’t work.  Read more........
