Rush Limbaugh: Your Phone Calls Are Making an Impact on Capitol Hill - It's Not Too Late to Halt Obama's Agenda - I'll give you some polling data to start with, and then I'll get to the court stuff. I'd actually rather start with some polling information data. Story from The Daily Caller: "Immigration Reform Critics Flood Senate with Phone Calls." You are overwhelming them and it is working, apparently. "Critics of the Democrat-led immigration rewrite are bombarding Senate orifices with thousands of phone calls. Advocates say that those calls are keeping numerous wayward Republican senators from joining the Democrats' immigration bill." And, by the way, in a "closed-door meeting" today, John Boehner told the Republicans that the House will not bring up the Senate immigration bill. That's in a closed-door meeting today. A National Review reporter tweeted this out that Boehner has told House Republicans the House will not bring up the Senate amnesty bill. And one of the reasons why, no question about it, is your phone calls. Now, it's funny... Well, it's not funny, but it's interesting how the State-Controlled Media is not reporting this. It's almost as if they don't want us to know that it's going on.  Read more........

(2) 12 of the Most Cutting Highlights from Justice Scalia's Angry Defense of Marriage Act Dissent - The Blaze - Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s acerbic style was on full display in his dissent from the high court’s decision to strike down the provision of the federal Defense of Marriage Act denying benefits to married gay couples. Scalia excoriated Justice Anthony Kennedy’s majority opinion in United States v. Windsor as “rootless and shifting” and held that the court had no standing to take the case. Here are 12 sharp-tongued highlights: • The Court is eager—hungry—to tell everyone its view of the legal question at the heart of this case. Standing in the way is an obstacle, a technicality of little interest to anyone but the people of We the People, who created it as a barrier against judges’ intrusion into their lives. They gave judges, in Article III, only the “judicial Power,” a power to decide not abstract questions but real, concrete “Cases” and “Controversies.” Yet the plaintiff and the Government agree entirely on what should happen in this lawsuit. They agree that the court below got it right; and they agreed in the court below that the court below that one got it right as well. What, then, are we doing here? Read more..........

(3) New Carbon Regulations, at Greater Cost to America - American Thinker - Five years into Obama's presidency, twelve million Americans remain unemployed, ten million others are underemployed, the unemployment rate is rising, and Obama wants to make it worse. In the fourth year of the Reagan presidency, the national economy grew by 6.8%. Last year, under Obama, it was still stuck at 2.2%. That difference is not accidental. It is the result of the contrasting policies of the two administrations. Sadly, the economic destruction of America continues in Obama's second term. One example of this continuing damage is Obama's determination to fight the phantom of climate change. For the past 15 years, the global climate has been cooling, not warming. And yet Obama, together with his "climate and energy advisor," Heather Zichal, has just announced a costly new initiative to halt global warming.  Read more......

(4) Islamic Extremists Slit Throat of Christian Pastor for Refusing to Renounce Faith - Washington Times - Radical Islamists in Nigeria have upped their fight for power in recent weeks, expanding their attacks on government forces to local citizens — one of the latest involving a Christian pastor who refused to renounce his faith. In response, Boko Haram militants slit his throat, The Blaze reported. The Nigerian newspaper The Daily Post reported that terrorists launched a coordinated attack a couple weeks ago on churches in several communities, ultimately killing the Rev. Jacob Kwiza of the Church of Christ while he picked mangoes in Hwa’a. A witness told The Post: “As the gunmen threw some explosives at our church, they forced the retired Reverend to renounced Christianity and be converted to Islam, but Rev. Jacob defied the gunmen’s threats of being killed, as he insisted on being a Christian among his people on the hills of Hwa’a. They slit his throat with sharp objects and we started to flee for safety, as we don’t know the next target of these gunmen. Read more.........
