Baucus, Now Investigating IRS, but Urged IRS to Target Conservative Groups in 2010 - Daily Caller - Democratic Montana Senator Max Baucus is leading an investigation into why the Internal Revenue Service targeted conservative nonprofit groups for extra scrutiny despite the fact that Baucus once wrote a letter urging the IRS to do exactly that. Baucus, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, will head the committee’s investigation into the IRS, which apologized Friday for targeting groups with the terms “Tea Party” and “Patriot” in their titles for extra scrutiny of their nonprofit status as early as 2011. However, Baucus once wrote a letter requesting that the IRS engage in that very conduct.Baucus wrote a letter to then-IRS commissioner Douglas Shulman dated September 28, 2010 urging the IRS to investigative nonprofit conservative groups during the Tea Party-dominated 2010 midterm elections. With hundreds of millions of dollars being spent in election contests by tax-exempt entities, it is time to take a fresh look at current practices and how they comport with the Internal Revenue Code’s rules for nonprofits,” Baucus wrote in the letter. “I request that you and your agency survey major 501(c)(4), (c)(5) and (c)(6) organizations involved in political campaign activity to examine whether they are operated for the organization’s intended tax exempt purpose and to ensure that political campaign activity is not the organization’s primary activity,” Baucus wrote in the letter. (2) Report: IRS Spared Liberal Groups as Tea Party Languished, more than 500 groups Targeted - Townhall - Remember what we were told when this explosive story first broke less than a week ago? The IRS official in charge of tax exemptions for organizations said the improper methods employed within her division were executed by "low level workers" in Cincinnati who weren't motivated by "political bias," and impacted roughly 75 organizations? Wrong, wrong and wrong:The IRS targeting of conservative groups is far broader than first reported, with nearly 500 organizations singled out for additional scrutiny, according to two lawmakers briefed by the agency. IRS officials claimed on Friday that roughly 300 groups received additional scrutiny. Reps. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said Tuesday that the number has actually risen to 471. Further, they said it is "unclear" whether Tea Party and other conservative groups are being targeted to this day.  Read more.......

(3) Critical Obamacare Court Case on Thursday - Liberty Counsel Connect -Tomorrow, the Liberty Counsel legal team faces the Obama Department of Justice at the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia. I am well prepared to present oral argument and am greatly looking forward to this confrontation. This is the God-given opportunity the Supreme Court handed us last November. This vital court date comes on the heels of a study released by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce that reports some insurance premiums will rise as much as a stunning 413 percent under ObamaCare. America simply cannot afford the Affordable Care Act! This outrageous government takeover is not the solution to America’s health care crisis. That’s one compelling reason among many why it must be stopped before its full implementation next January. I have recorded a special audio update on our case and strategies for you and the many friends of Liberty Counsel who have supported us in our ongoing effort to rid the nation of the scourge of ObamaCare.  Read more.......

(4) (10,883 views) Another Gosnell: Report Shows Texas Abortion Doc Kills Babies Born Alive, Life Net, After the conviction of late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell on murder charges, Operation Rescue has been repeatedly asked if there is any evidence that similar practices exist at abortion clinics elsewhere in the nation. That documentation has now been released. Operation Rescue arranged to have Life Dynamics, Inc. produce a video interview, released yesterday, with three informants who came to Operation Rescue as the result of our Abortion Whistleblowers Program, which offers a reward of $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of abortionists who are breaking the law.“The photos show babies that are huge, with gashes in their necks, indicating that these babies were likely born alive, then killed, just as Kermit Gosnell did at his ‘House of Horrors’ clinic in Philadelphia,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “In fact, there are numerous similarities between Karpen and the Gosnell case, including the disregarding of complaints by the authorities that allowed both men to continue their illegal operations.” Signs of life In both cases, the babies’ skin is pink, noting a lack of masceration, an early form of decomposition that happens in babies that die in the womb. Massive bruising on the extremities of one of the babies indicates the baby’s heart was pulsing with life when the trauma was inflicted likely when grasping instruments latched on to bring the baby down into the birth canal. The eyes of the other child are open in a nightmarish expression of pain, revealing development greater than 26-28 weeks. Both sets of photos were taken sometime in 2011. Read more........
