Obama Campaign Plans Major Push for Gang of 8 Immigration Bill - Washington Examiner - Organizing for Action, the activist group that grew out of President Obama’s 2012 campaign, plans what it calls a “major day of action” next month to gather support for the bipartisan Gang of Eight comprehensive immigration reform bill. “This is a huge moment for President Obama,” said Emmy Ruiz, OFA’s immigration campaign manager, in an email sent to supporters of the Obama campaign Sunday. “The president made it clear last year that comprehensive immigration reform is a big part of his agenda — and we can help him keep that promise to the American people.” “OFA supporters across the country are doing what they do best — organizing to get the word out about this reform bill,” Ruiz continued. “We’re hosting a major Day of Action the first week of May, and we want your help in getting people to be a part of it.” Read more........

(2) Key Congressmen Request Classified Briefing on Saudi 'Person of Interest' in Boston Bombing - The Blaze - The House Committee on Homeland Security on Sunday emailed TheBlaze a copy of their request to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano for more information on the Saudi national originally described as a “person of interest” in the Boston Marathon bombing. The Saudi national — originally identified as Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi — has been the topic of fierce debate in recent days, after he was reportedly set to be deported under section 212 3B of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) – “Security and related grounds” – “Terrorist activities,” after the bombing. The story gained a curious twist when, after it gained more traction, President & Chief Content Officer for TheBlaze Joel Cheatwood received word from one of his investigative reporters that “there is now discussion that they may not allow this man to be deported.” When Napolitano was asked about the issue by South Carolina Rep. Jeff Duncan last week, she said his question was “so full of misstatements and misapprehension that it’s just not worthy of an answer.” ICE sources later told TheBlaze that a separate Saudi national was in custody, and that he is “in no way affiliated” with the Boston attacks. Now, the House Committee on Homeland Security wants some answers. Read more........

(3) Pompeo to Baucus: If Obamacare is a 'Train Wreck" - You've Got Nobody to Blame But Yourself - Hot Air -Just a friendly reminder from Republican Sen. Mike Pompeo to his esteemed colleague Sen. Max Baucus about exactly where all of this “train wreck” blame belongs: Dear Senator Baucus, I was stunned, and also saddened, to read of your complaint that Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is doing an insufficient job informing the public about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), otherwise known as Obamacare. My shock wasn’t because I disagreed: You’re right to say this legislation has led to great uncertainty for hard-working Americans, small business owners, and families. No, I was shocked because you wrote this bill. I was saddened because your acknowledgement of the harm caused by PPACA has come so late. Unlike you, the American people have opposed this law from the moment it was first introduced in Congress. How hard was it to see that even the smartest government bureaucrats can’t competently plan something as complicated as America’s health-care sector? President Obama’s proposal to rescind the Medicaid disproportionate share hospital payments for 2014 is an admission that this law will not work as written. The IRS is violating the clear language of this law by planning to spend more than half a trillion dollars and tax millions of employers and individuals without congressional authorization.  Read more.......

(4) Gosnell Trial Witness: Baby Abortion Survivor Was 'Swimming' in Toilet - 'Trying to Get Out' -CNS News - On the last day of testimony before the prosecution rests in the murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell, a former worker at Gosnell's clinic testified that she saw one late-term baby who survived an abortion "swimming" in a toilet and "trying to get out." Kareema Cross, a “medical assistant” who worked at Gosnell’s Women’s Medical Society clinic for four-and-a-half years, testified in a Philadelphia court today, telling of the horrors of babies who survived abortions only to have their necks snipped with scissors. “Did you ever see those babies move?” asked Prosecutor Joanne Pescatore. “Yes, once in the toilet,” said Cross. The baby “was like swimming,” she said. “Basically, trying to get out.” Adrienne Moton, an employee at the clinic, then took the baby and snipped the back of its neck while the mother was still in the room.
