Harry Reid Will Introduce 'Universal Background Checks' in Gun Control Bill - The Blaze - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he will include a requirement for expanded background checks for firearms buyers in a gun control bill the Senate debates next month. The Huffington Post reported Reid would introduce “universal background checks.” The Nevada Democrat says he hopes that during Congress’ upcoming two-week break, senators will reach compromise on background check language with bipartisan support. If not, Reid says in a statement that the Senate will vote on a stricter measure expanding the checks to virtually all private gun transactions, with few exceptions. President Barack Obama and many gun control advocates consider an expansion of background checks the strongest step lawmakers could take to reduce firearms violence. Opponents say the system is easily sidestepped by criminals and threatens creation of a government file on gun owners – which is illegal under federal law. Read more.......
(2) Gun-Grabbing Mayor Bloomberg Hints at Defeating Senators Who Vote No on Assault Weapons Ban - Hot Air - The key bit comes runs from around 7:00 to 7:50. We can’t possibly be so lucky as to have Bloomy drop a few million to defeat red-state Dems like Pryor and Landrieu in the primaries, can we?
The Senate’s upcoming vote on the assault weapons ban is going to put vulnerable Democrats in a difficult spot.
Democrats facing tough reelection races will either attract the ire of the National Rifle Association or prominent gun control activists such as New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg (I). A vote against the ban could spark primary challenges that could weaken Democrats in the general election…
“People are not going to say, ‘That’s a tough vote for them, let’s not do anything,’ ” said Josh Horwitz, executive director of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. “There is a feeling that to win this thing we need all the Democrats. That means people who are in tough races in 2014 don’t get passes. I would expect issue ads and advocacy for all senators.” Read more......
(3) Janet Napolitano Upgrading Saudis into 'Trusted Traveler' Program - American Thinker - Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, who famously declared "The system worked" after an underwear bomber was able to partially detonate his weapon aboard a jumbo jet bound for Detroit, has completed her divorce proceedings from reality. The New York Post reports:

(4) Megyn Kelly Interview with Author Stanley Kurtz on the Obama Administration's Plans to "Manhattanize America and Push Us Back to the Cities - For those of you who are familiar with UN Agenda 21, this new revelation about the Barack Hussein Obama Administration to Manhattanize America by Stanley Kurtz, will come as no surprise. After all it falls into line with BHO’s plans to Redistribute Wealth and to UNize America as evidenced by his recent attempts to use the UN Arms Treaty as an end-around our 2nd Amendment Rights. You will notice the references to Smart Growth, by Scott Strzelczyk and Richard Rothschild in their The American Thinker article and Stanley Kurtz in his Megan Kelly video Interview You should also be aware that the term Smart Growth has become ubiquitous in MA Cities and Towns and in our Planning Departments.“ Most Americans are unaware that one of the greatest threats to their freedom may be a United Nations program known as Agenda 21. The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Division for Sustainable Development created Agenda 21 as a sustainability agenda which is arguably an amalgamation of socialism and extreme environmentalism brushed with anti-American, anti-capitalist overtones. (5) Update on Abortion Monster Kermit Gosnell - Katie Pavlich - Townhall - I wrote a lot about Philadelphia abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell back in 2011 when a Grand Jury issued a report showing the man had killed a woman and snipped the spinal cords of at least seven-full term healthy and viable babies after birth, making millions of dollars over the years. Gosnell worked late night hours in unsanitary conditions and hired staff without medical credentials to administer labor inducing drugs to women. Gosnell's medical license was revoked in 2010 and he was named in at least 46-medical-malpractice suits. Gosnell specifically targeted poor and minority women at his dirty, illegal and unsanitary clinic nicknamed the "house of horrors." As a reminder:
An abortion doctor who catered to minorities, immigrants and poor women was charged with eight counts of murder in the deaths of a patient and seven babies who were born alive and then killed with scissors, prosecutors said Wednesday.
Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 69, made millions of dollars over 30 years, performing as many illegal, late-term abortions as he could, prosecutors said.
Gosnell "induced labor, forced the live birth of viable babies in the sixth, seventh, eighth month of pregnancy and then killed those babies by cutting into the back of the neck with scissors and severing their spinal cord."
Authorities went to investigate drug-related complaints at the clinic last year and stumbled on what Williams called a "house of horrors."
"There were bags and bottles holding aborted fetuses scattered throughout the building," Williams said. "There were jars, lining shelves, with severed feet that he kept for no medical purpose."Read more....... Article contributed by Steve Peters.
