Rush Limbaugh: For the First Time in My Life, I am Ashamed of My Country - Folks, I'm sorry here. I can't help but think that we are all being played for a bunch of fools, a bunch of suckers on this sequester business. I don't know. Are you like me? Do you really think 800,000 people are gonna lose their jobs in the Pentagon because we cut $22 billion? Do you really think air traffic control's gonna shut down? Do you really think there aren't gonna be any meat inspectors? Do you really think that all of these horror stories are going to happen? I don't. I feel like I've been here. This is deja vu all over again. I remember the 1995 budget battle. That involved a legitimate government shut down. That wasn't just $22 billion we were not gonna spend. We're still gonna spend $3.5 trillion. We're just not gonna spend $22 billion, if it happens.....Everything gets repeated. The cycle, the claims, the threats, the crisis, Armageddon, it's the same. And we're talking $22 billion. It's not as though we're not gonna spend anything. If the sequester happens, the first year is $44 billion. Half of that's defense. We're still going to spend $3.5 trillion or $3.3 trillion, even if we don't spend the $22 billion. Then there's this guy who draws an analogy to the Oklahoma City bombing.  Read more.....

(2) Top 3 Reasons Chuck Hagel is Wrong for Secretary of Defense - Heritage Foundation - President Obama’s pick as the next Secretary of Defense is the wrong one. Heritage’s defense and foreign policy experts have examined the record of Chuck Hagel, the Republican former Senator from Nebraska, and concluded he simply does not have the experience and skills for the job. What’s more, his vision for dealing with other nations is dangerous for America. Here are the top three reasons Hagel is wrong for the job. 1. Hagel does not have the executive and managerial experience to lead a department as large and complex as the Pentagon.....2. He embraces dangerously na├»ve policies such as “nuclear zero,” the dream of a world without nuclear weapons..... 3. He advocates talking to America’s enemies and beating up on our friends......Read more on each one of these points.....

(3) Could High-Tech ID Cards Trip Up Immigration Reform - The Blaze - Privacy advocates are voicing concerns about a lesser-known point in the much-publicized bipartisan ”Gang of Eight” immigration reform proposal introduced last month. Key senators are exploring an immigration reform bill that would in part force every citizen and non-citizen U.S. worker to carry a high-tech identity card that would use fingerprints or other personal markers to prove a person’s legal ability to work, The Wall Street Journal reports. Civil liberties organizations fear this portion of the law could lead to a national identity card that could trace Americans through their daily lives. In addition to the Senate plan, the leaked White House “backup plan” also calls for illegal immigrants to submit biometric information to qualify for a new type of visa. Chris Calabrese of the American Civil Liberties Union is worried the biometric ID card could eventually be required to board airplanes, purchase a firearm or vote, Fox News reports. “It becomes in essence a permission slip to do all of the ordinary things that are your rights as an American,” Calabrese says.  Read more.......

(4) North Caroline Board of Elections Involved in Illegal Voting Practices Board worked hand in glove with Obama campaign in 2008 - American Thinker -Ever since Obama's 2008 election, grassroots conservatives in North Carolina have painstakingly reviewed and documented voter irregularities to see if fraud was taking place. Many discrepancies are still being found, but the nonprofit Civitas Institute has proof through a series of public records requests that the State Board of Elections worked with the Obama campaign to violate election laws. The Civitas Institute has documented how SBE [State Board of Elections] bureaucrats conspired with a private company, working for the Obama campaign to facilitate a form of online voter registration for the 2012 General Election - in violation of state law. It's a classic example of how bureaucrats ignore the democratic process and hijack an agency for partisan purposes. [snip] Yet the SBE staff set in motion a scheme that in the last two months of the election resulted in more than 11,000 people being allowed to register online. Civitas has confirmed this by a public records request to all 100 counties and is still compiling the total number of registrations as counties comply with the request. Thus far, 68 percent of the registrations we have received were Democratic voters, 10 percent were Republican voters and 21 percent from unaffiliated voters. Read more......

(5) Albemarle School Board Members Buyaki, Strucko Call for Dumler's Resignation - Schilling Show Blog - Jason Buyaki, Rivanna District representative to the Albemarle County School Board, and Eric Strucko, Samuel Miller District representative, independently have called for the resignation of embattled Albemarle County Supervisor, Chris Dumler. Among an otherwise stone-silent school board, both members cite concern over Dumler’s sexual battery conviction, the message projected by his continued presence on the Board of Supervisors, and Dumler’s ability to freely roam Albemarle County schools without escort. Buyaki suggests changing school board policy on sex offenders so that: “any individual who has been convicted of sex crime should be escorted at all times as a precaution and preventative method.” Strucko says he’s “open” to considering such a revision. As of publication time, Albemarle County School Board members, Diantha McKeel (vice chair), Ned Galloway, Steve Koleszar (chair), Pam Moynihan, and Barbara Mouley, had not responded to The Schilling Show’s request for comment. Read more for questions asked of the Albemarle County School Board, and for responses received from Strucko and Buyaki........
