Robert Hurt Releases New Television Ad - 'Worked' -  Washington D.C. insider and lobbyist John Douglass continues to make patently false statements about Robert and his family, doing anything to avoid talking about his support for such job killing policies as Obamacare, a cap and trade energy tax that would cost families $1100 a month, and a stimulus bill that has failed to create jobs and put us further in debt to countries like China. Washington D.C. insider and lobbyist John Douglass stated that President Obama’s $1 trillion stimulus worked, created jobs, and is worth putting our children in further debt to countries China. The people of the 5th District know that the stimulus was a massive failure and a clear example of the failed policies that this administration and John Douglass support – further demonstrating just how out of touch John Douglass is with the pulse of the 5th District.

"We've had customers come in and tell us they aren't going to shop here any more because of the signs outside, even though they aren't our signs," said Troy Crews, the owner of Play It Again Sports. "The tenant above us has the right to put those (signs) out there...and we are kind of suffering the consequences because of that." The second floor of the shopping center is home to campaign headquarters for General John Douglass, the Democrat running for the fifth district Congressional seat. Read more........

Robert Hurt Statement on the Second Presidential Debate - Congressman Robert Hurt today released the following statement after the Presidential debate: “Mitt Romney walked away from tonight’s debate with a decisive victory in hand. He won on the merits of his ideas. He debunked President Obama’s false odes to fairness by proving just how unfair the President’s policies are to the millions of Americans who cannot find work. He demonstrated the emptiness of the President’s calls for fiscal responsibility by highlighting the massive amounts of debt that have accumulated under this administration’s watch. And Romney did something more: he articulated a vision to turn the tide on President Obama’s broken promises and record of failure by delivering a real recovery through pro-growth economic policies.

Robert Hurt Continues to Fight for Jobs - Robert Hurt’s campaign released the following statement following tonight’s debate at Warrenton Middle School: “Tonight, 5th District Virginians once again witnessed Washington D.C. insider and lobbyist John Douglass demonstrate that he is in lockstep with the same failed, job crushing policies of President Obama and Nancy Pelosi – the same failed policies that Central and Southside Virginians rejected in 2010 and reject today. Not only did John Douglass reaffirm that he is out of touch with 5th District voters, but he continues to mislead 5th District voters by making false statements and distorting the truth.  Read more........
