New O'Keefe Video Shows Democratic Congressman's (Jim Moran D-VA) Son Apparently Advising How to Commit Voter Fraud - The Blaze - Conservative activist James O’Keefe released a new undercover video Wednesday apparently showing a Democratic congressman’s son giving advice on how to commit voter fraud. In the video, a man identified as Patrick Moran, son of Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.) and the field director for his re-election campaign, is asked by an undercover operative how best to vote in the names of 100 inactive voters he has on a list. “There are 100 people who don’t vote,” the male videographer says in the footage, said to have been recorded in Arlington, Va. on Oct. 8. “He’s got a van and he and me were going to go around –” “Rally these people up and get them to the polls?” Moran asks. “Well, he was actually going to get in a van and vote for them,” the videographer says. “Oh,” Moran says with a long pause. “Hmm. Guilford County Voters Say Ballot Cast for Romney Came Up Obama on Machine - My Fox 8 -–The presidential election is just around the corner and voting issues have already become a problem in Guilford County.
On Monday, several voters complained that their electronic ballot machine cast the wrong vote. All the complaints were made by people who voted at the Bur-Mil Park polling location.
One of the voters, Sher Coromalis, says she cast her ballot for Governor Mitt Romney, but every time she entered her vote the machine defaulted to President Obama.
“I was so upset that this could happen,” said Coromalis.
Guilford County Board of Elections Director George Gilbert says the problem arises every election. It can be resolved after the machine is re-calibrated by poll workers.
“It’s not a conspiracy it’s just a machine that needs to be corrected,” Gilbert said.
After the third try, Coromalis says she was able to get her vote counted for Gov. Romney but was still annoyed.
“I should have just mailed it in,” Coromalis said.
Marie Haydock, who also voted at the Bur-Mil Park polling location, had the same problem.
“The frustration is… every vote counts,” said Haydock.
Elections officials say the machines have been fixed as of Tuesday, and no problems have been reported since.
Early voting ends November 3. Read more.....
Virginia Military Ballots Going Awol in 2012 - MPV Project - A 92 percent drop in absentee-ballot requests by military personnel in Virginia is raising concerns that the Pentagon is failing to carry out a federal voting law.
With only 1,746 military voters in Virginia requesting absentee ballots so far this year — out of 126,251 service members in the state —the Military Voter Protection Project says the system has broken down.
And it’s not just in the Old Dominion. MVPP Executive Director Eric Eversole reports significant declines in absentee-ballot requests by service members across the nation.
Compiling data from Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, Illinois, Ohio, Alaska, Colorado and Nevada, Eversole’s organization found that military families have requested 55,510 absentee ballots so far this year. That’s a sharp decline from the 166,252 sought in those states in 2008.
