CBS OHIO Focus Group - Romney Won the Final Debate - Virginia Right. CBS had a focus group last night and after the debate, asked the voters who one. Romney was the top choice by a 3 to 1 margin in this important swing state.

Romney Wins the Debate Season - and the Key Test for a Challenger; Update: Romney hits 50% in Rasmussen Tracker, up 4 - Hot Air - Yeah, let me first give you my general opinion. And that was, I thought in the middle of the debate that if I had been on the desert island for the last four years and I had just been parachuted into this debate, I would have thought the guy that had turned out to be Mitt Romney was the president protecting a lead and that Barack Obama was the challenger trying, somewhat desperately to catch up. Obama was slashing, was personal, was cutting, I thought that Romney was big-picture, seemed to have much more of an agenda for the future than the President did. I e-mailed one of his top aides in the course of the debate, and said, “What’s behind this strategy?” Clearly he was not taking the bait, not getting into fights with Barack Obama. This official said, “This is all Mitt Romney’s idea. This is how he wants to conduct this debate.” Remember Morrissey’s Axiom on Politics and Dating? Desperation is not an aphrodisiac. Small wonder, then, that even in a PPP poll that proclaimed Obama the winner of the debate by eleven points in swing states that the net movement for both men wound up in the margin of error (+6 for Obama and +3 for Romney) — and not even among likely voters.  Read more.........

Did Obama Blow It on Sequestration? - Hot Air - Megyn, you mentioned the sequester earlier, the massive cut to the Defense Department, the Pentagon, that’s coming up on January 2. The president said tonight that the sequester will not happen. That was a key moment. And it did make news. Well now, the White House, the campaign is back-pedaling. David Plouffe saying in the Spin Room just behind you, pressed on this, he said repeatedly to reporters, everyone in Washington agrees the sequester, quote, “should not happen.” And asked again, and he said it should not happen. So apparently ‘will not happen’ has become ‘should not happen.’ We’ll see what happens with that. Politico’s Philip Ewing reports that Obama’s vow not only caught his campaign off guard, but Democrats in Congress too — and gave Republicans a big opening to attack Obama for his lack of interest in the issue so far:  Read more.........

Here is the Truth About Romney on General Motors - Obama Lied - American Thinker - President Obama's attack, during the final debate, on Mitt Romney's critique of the auto industry bailout was 100% false, i.e., a bald-faced lie. When Romney said, during the debate, that in 2008 he favored a managed bankruptcy for Detroit's auto makers, with federal guarantees for post-bankruptcy financing, Obama directly claimed this was a falsehood, repeatedly saying, "Check the record." Here's the record, via Mitt Romney's New York Times op-ed from November 18, 2008. Allow me to quote one representative sentence from that op-ed: The federal government should provide guarantees for post-bankruptcy financing and assure car buyers that their warranties are not at risk. I encourage everyone to read the linked op-ed for themselves. Romney was completely consistent with his 2008 position on this during the debate. Obama attempted to thwart him using the typical leftist method: lie through your teeth, and hope no one notices. Let's hope enough people are noticing these days. Read more......
