Distracted - President Obama on Jobs - (11,400 views) - President Obama said he's focused on jobs and promised he would not rest "until every American who wants a job can find one." Promise kept?

The Ugly Truth About that "Great' Jobs Report - Human Events - The Labor Department reported today that U.S. employers added 114,000 jobs in September. The unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent – where it was when Barack Obama took office and not at the 5.8 his administration forecasted. No doubt, the top headline of a dropping unemployment rate is helpful for the president. Democrats are celebrating. While this is certainly better news than we’ve been getting – which tells us more the sad expectations we have in the Obama era – the new unemployment rate reflects deep economic stagnation and, maybe, a new normal. Let’s review: The 114,000 jobs created in September is below the average created this year, which was 146,000. The 114,000 jobs created in September is below the average created last year, which was 153,000. The U-6 unemployment number, which reflects the entire labor situation, was basically unchanged at 14.7 percent. If labor participation was where Obama had inherited it from George W. Unemployment Rate Plummets to 4.3% - for Government Workers - CNS News -  The best news anywhere in the U.S. economy over the past three months has been in the government sector, where unemployment has dropped dramatically from 5.7 percent in July to 5.1 percent in August to 4.3 percent in September, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Both the federal and state governments increased their employees in July, August and September. The Obama administration has added 10,000 civilian workers to the federal government's payroll since July, according to BLS. In that month, the federal government employed 2,804,000 civilian workers. In August, that increased to 2,810,000. And, in September, the number of civilian federal employees increased again to 2,814,000.  Read more..........

NOW WE KNOW WHY UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA TURNED DOWN OBAMA'S CAMPAIGN REQUEST TO APPEAR ON UVA'S CAMPUS.
Obama Campaign Shuts Down Campus, Requires Students' Personal Information - Daily Caller -  President Barack Obama paid a campaign-related visit to the University of Wisconsin-Madison Thursday, drawing complaints from several professors who criticized the mass disruption to classes. Kenneth Mayer, a political science professor at UW, sent a letter to university administrators chiding them for renting central campus to the Obama campaign. “It hardly seems appropriate to shut the central campus down for an entire day, closing offices and seriously disrupting our mission,” he wrote. “I have several colleagues who had scheduled exams for Thursday. Surely there were other venues that would pose less disturbance.” Others were more concerned with the registration process for the event. To attend, students followed a link from the university website to the official Obama campaign website, and gave their names, e-mail addresses and phone numbers. Then they had to click a box that reads, “I’M IN!” Read more.......
