Candidate for Va. 5th District Congress, Striking a Conservative at Public Forum - Welborn Freedom Watch (3) VIDEO: John Douglass Striking Conservative at Public Forum

On August 23, 2012, the Jefferson Area Tea Party held "You Didn't Build That" protests at Charlottesville three area locations. During a campaign stop in Roanoke, VA on July 13, President Obama stated "If you've got a business - you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen." His assertion deservedly sparked a national outrage. The Jefferson Area Tea Party firmly believes that the credit for building a business belongs to the enterprising citizen who shoulders the financial risk, works countless long hours, and often suffers the consequences of one or more failed businesses before attaining success. Members of the JATP were stationed at three prominent traffic intersections (Route 29 and Rio Road, Route 29 and Hydraulic Road, and 250 and McIntire Road) with signs in protest of the President's remarks.

Steve Peters, was interviewed by the Media regarding several incidents involving John Douglass, Democratic candidate for U.S. Va. 5th Congressional District. The last incident involved John Douglass striking a conservative at a public forum in Farmville, Va., on Tuesday, August 21, 2012,  during the Jefferson Area Tea Party - You Didn't Build That" Protests at three Charlottesville area locations, on August 23, 2012.
