Obamacare - #3973 - Top 5 Things the Administration Forgot to Tell Women About Obamacare - Heritage Foundation (2) Karl Rove: Obama's Healthcare Opportunity - Wall Street Journal (3) Thanks Obamacare - 83% of Doctors Surveyed Say They May Quit - Townhall

Yesterday, the Obama Administration hosted a health care town hall that was intended to focus on Obamacare’s impact on women’s health. Top Obama Administration officials participated, including the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Kathleen Sebelius. The discussion was heavy on emotion and light on the details of Obamacare’s provisions—and surprisingly lacking in the gender specificity it was supposed to address. The Administration’s generic talking points may or may not resonate with American women, but surely the real impact of Obamacare will—and in ways that are not favorable to the Administration. Here’s a summary of the adverse effects that some specific provisions will have on the women the Administration claims to be helping: 1. Decreased Choice. Obamacare mandates that insurers cover preventive services recommended by the United State Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) with no cost-sharing. This has quickly turned the task force’s recommendations for doctors and patients into requirements on insurers and employers that could lead them to cover only services that are required of them........ 2. Higher Premiums. Obamacare’s “free” preventive services will still be paid for by the consumer.  Read more.......

Karl Rove: Obama's Health-Care Opportunity - Wall Street Journal  - As the Supreme Court gets ready to announce whether President Barack Obama's heath-care reform is constitutional, some Democrats hope it strikes down the law. They believe bad news for ObamaCare is good political news for Mr. Obama. Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that half the voters "think the whole thing is political" so if the law is overturned, Republicans "will own" the health-care issue as costs "escalate unbelievably." Democrats can profit at the polls by saying, "We tried, we did something." But Democrats should be careful what they wish for. ObamaCare is not popular; striking down the law in part or completely is. For example, in the June 5 Fox News poll, only 40% favor the new health-care law while 49% oppose it. Just 30% would prefer the Supreme Court to uphold it, while 21% favor the court striking down the law's individual mandate to buy health insurance at age 26, and 38% want the entire statute declared unconstitutional.  Read more........ Thanks Obamacare: 83% of Doctors Survey Say They May Quit - Townhall - The Doctor Patient Medical Association has released a new survey of about 700 doctors, and the results are bleak. Scary bleak. Among other dismal figures, Doctors' Attitudes on the Future of Medicine: What’s Wrong, Who’s to Blame, and What Will Fix It found that 83% of respondents are contemplating leaving the industry if Obamacare is fully implemented, owing to its disastrous projected consequences. Indeed, they openly blame the healthcare law for their industry's woes: KEY FINDINGS:  (1) 90% say the medical system is on the WRONG TRACK.  (2) 83% say they are thinking about QUITTING (3) 61% say the system challenges their ETHICS (4) 85% say the patient-physician relationship is in a TAILSPIN (5) 65% say GOVERNMENT INVOLVEMENT is most to blame for current problems (6) 72% say individual insurance mandate will NOT result in improved access care.  Read more......   Article contributed by Steve Peters.
