Virginia General Assembly - #3720 - VIDEO: Standing Up for Pro-Life Principles: (1) Del. M. Kirkland Cox(R) 66th District (2) Del. Kathy J. Byron (R) 22th District - Family Foundation

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO WATCH THE FOLLOWING TWO VIDEOS, THEY AREN'T LONG. I REALLY DON'T THINK ANY OF US CAN APPRECIATE WHAT OUR LEGISLATORS HAVE ENDURED IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS. BE SURE TO TAKE THE TIME TO THANK YOUR DELEGATE.
If you aren’t truly committed to pro-life principles, the last few weeks have probably been pretty tough. Only those who can stand up to and see through the lies of the abortion industry, the deceptive arguments of pseudo-conservatives and the harsh attacks of the media elite are able to withstand withering criticism, no matter how ludicrous it may be. For our elected officials, these past few weeks have been especially tough, particularly because too many in the media have ignored their statements or assailed them simply for supporting pro-life measures. At the end of the day, these legislators were sent to the General Assembly by a majority of citizens on Election Day, and that counts for much more than a few staged rallies at the capitol. Nevertheless, the daily, relentless attacks can be discouraging. Enter two delegates in the House who had enough of the attacks and stood up on the floor of the House of Delegates late last week to give impassioned speeches about the importance of protecting human life. The speeches were inspiring and encouraging to every pro-life legislator and to those of us at The Family Foundation who have been working day in and day out to ensure that pro-life bills pass.

Delegate M. Kirkland Cox (R - 66th District - First, Delegate Kirk Cox (R-66, Colonial Heights), the House Majority Leader, and one of the strongest pro-life advocates in the legislature. Every year he fights boldly for pro-life causes both publically and behind the scenes in ways that we never get to talk about.

Second, Delegate Kathy Byron (R-22nd District, Lynchburg), the patron of the ultrasound bill. There may be no legislator in Richmond who has been more viciously attacked this session than Delegate Byron, but she never wavered, and fought for the strongest ultrasound bill possible, even in her own Republican caucus when some urged her to back down.
