Before the U.S. Supreme Court begins hearing three days of arguments on the constitutionality of the new federal health care law on Monday, thousands of people are expected to make their voices heard in rallies taking place nationwide, saying the law violates their religious freedom.  Nearly 60 groups, including the Pro-Life Action League, Citizens for a Pro-Life America, Students for Life of America and the Alliance Defense Fund, have joined forces as the Coalition to Stop the HHS Mandate, and are sponsoring rallies in more than 120 cities nationwide at noon local time on Friday.  “(This is) the starting point in a grassroots effort to overturn this pernicious HHS mandate and restore the religious freedom with which our nation was founded,” said rally co-chairman Eric Scheidler, executive director of the Pro-Life Action League. “The federal government, for the first time in U.S. history, is assuming the authority to determine what shall constitute the mission of a religious institution, like a hospital, a university, a soup kitchen.“What we have is the federal government providing a religious exemption to their contraceptive, sterilization and [possible] abortion-inducing drug mandate so narrow that Jesus and His apostles would not qualify.”  Read more.......

Hundreds of Lobbying Atheists Prepare to 'Flood' Capitol Hill on Friday - The Blaze - Washington D.C. is in for an infusion of anti-religious sentiment this weekend. On Saturday, thousands of atheists and secularists are expected to converge on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. to celebrate their non-belief through a massive event called the “Reason Rally.”  But the day before this supposed amalgamate of non-believers descends on the nation’s capitol, the Secular Coalition of America is holding the “Lobby Day for Reason” — an event aimed at training atheists in how to interact with Congress.  Read more..........
