PLEASE DON'T MISS THIS INTERVIEW, PAUL RYAN AT HIS BEST IN EXPLAINING THE OBAMA 2013 BUDGET DISASTER.

Paul Ryan - Obama Budget a Plan to Save his Presidency, Not America - Greta VanSusteren - Fox - Rep. Paul Ryan on why he believes president's budget plan is a campaign gimmick - “President Obama’s irresponsible budget is a recipe for a debt crisis and the decline of America. His refusal to honestly confront our nation’s most pressing challenges does real harm to the economic security of millions of American families. The $1.9 trillion tax increase proposed in his budget will make it harder for businesses to create jobs and for workers to spur economic growth. “This budget does nothing to prevent the bankruptcy of critical programs, threatening the health and retirement security of current and future seniors. Worse, it continues the President’s policy of letting an unaccountable board of bureaucrats cut Medicare in ways that will lead to denied care for seniors. The broken promises and recycled gimmicks contained in this budget have dramatically widened this President’s growing credibility deficit. Our families, seniors, children and grandchildren deserve better than this reckless budget and this dismal failure of leadership. As Chairman of the House Budget Committee, I will continue to work with my colleagues – from both parties where possible – to advance bold solutions that lift our crushing burden of debt and ensure a future of opportunity, growth and prosperity.” Read more........

Obamacare Lawsuit Heats Up - Citizen Link  - With the Obama administration’s refusal to back away from a mandate forcing religious groups to indirectly pay for and provide contraception and drugs that can cause abortion through insurance plans, lawsuits against the federal government are moving forward on two levels — and they’re gaining steam.  On Monday, 43 Republican U.S. senators filed an amicus brief on a case currently pending at the U.S. Supreme Court — that challenging the law’s “individual mandate,” which compels private citizens to buy health insurance or pay a fine.  “Put simply, Congress acted without constitutional authority in enacting the Individual Mandate of the (law),” the brief states. “In so doing, it has damaged Congress’ institutional legitimacy and has triggered severe conflicts between state and federal governments that the Constitution was carefully designed to avert.  Because the Individual Mandate regulates a simple decision or choice not to purchase a particular product, it exceeds the proper scope of the Commerce Clause.”  Those were the reasons a three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals gave last year in ruling the individual mandate unconstitutional. The Supreme Court is expected to rule on the case sometime this spring.  Read more........

Notre Dame Faculty Calls Obama So-Called Accommodation 'Grave Violation of Religious Freedom" - Hot Air - Three years ago, Notre Dame University provided Obama a platform to speak to Catholics and awarded him an honorary degree. Yesterday, the faculty at the Catholic university — which would be subject to the mandate — gave him the third degree instead, excoriating Obama for a “grave violation of religious freedom”: Twenty-five Notre Dame faculty members–led by the university’s top ethics expert, and including some of the school’s most eminent scholars–have signed a statement declaring that President Barack Obama’s latest version of his administration’s mandate that all health insurance plans in the United States must cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including those that cause abortions, is “a grave violation of religious freedom and cannot stand.”  The statement—put out on the letterhead of the University of Notre Dame Law School–is also signed by leading scholars from other major American colleges and universities, including Princeton, Harvard, Stanford, Georgetown, Brigham Young, Yeshiva and Wheaton College.  Read more...........
