'The Con Artist' - ....24,134  views -  “President Barack Obama was the brightest star in Washington,” begins the political ad, which comes complete with 1920s swing music and silent movie titles showing the promises President Obama made during his presidential campaign and his first months in office, like cutting the deficit. “But all that changed when, one day, his broken promises caught up with him,” the narrator continues, attacking the president for “breaking the hearts” and “trust” of Americans. “That’s why audiences across America are calling Obama ‘The Con Artist,’” the ad goes on, citing rising gas prices, the rising debt and the president’s decision not to sign the bill allowing the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline. “The Con Artist: We can’t afford a sequel,” says the final frame of the ad. This is one movie that I’d like to see again and again — and like Act of Valor, one I’m sure won’t be winning any Oscars next year.

Obama to Cut Healthcare Benefits for Active Duty and Retired US Military - Washington Free Beacon - The Obama administration’s proposed defense budget calls for military families and retirees to pay sharply more for their healthcare, while leaving unionized civilian defense workers’ benefits untouched. The proposal is causing a major rift within the Pentagon, according to U.S. officials. Several congressional aides suggested the move is designed to increase the enrollment in Obamacare’s state-run insurance exchanges.  The disparity in treatment between civilian and uniformed personnel is causing a backlash within the military that could undermine recruitment and retention.  Read more........

Obama Campaign Tries Intimidation to Boost Fundraising Letter - Big Government - Tonight, a former Obama supporter forwarded BigGovernment an email sent out today by the Obama campaign. It’s equal parts desperate and creepy:  As you may have noticed, we’ve asked you for a donation a few times now.  But according to our records, you haven’t yet made an online donation to this campaign at this email address. (If our records are wrong, I apologize and thank you!)  The email goes on to ask for “feedback” on why the former supporter has failed to cough-up their hard-earned dollars for Obama’s reelection:  I’m not writing to ask you for money again. I’m actually writing to ask your opinion about why you haven’t given, and what you think would inspire you or other Obama supporters like you to decide to take the leap and donate.  There’s a good reason we’re asking for your feedback: The kind of organization we all decided to be a part of only works if people like you pitch in to build it.  Read more.........

White House Hides the Big Drop in Percentage of Working Americans - American Thinker -  It's not the same as the unemployment rate. It is the workplace participation rate that shows the true horror of Obama's jobless "recovery." Quite simply, the percentage of working-age Americans who have a job is crashing. Daily Caller:  A new chart produced by the Republican Study Committee shows the downward jumps of that job-participation rate, even after President Barack Obama deployed his trillion-dollar stimulus in February 2009, and after Obama declared the summer of 2010 a "Recovery Summer."  "I expect you will be seeing this chart on the House floor during debates, it will be shown at town hall meetings and in district events," committee spokesman Brian Straessle told The Daily Caller.  Read more.......

White House Uses Espionage Act to Pursue Leak Cases - NY Times - Jake Tapper, the White House correspondent for ABC News, pointed out that the administration had lauded brave reporting in distant lands more than once and then asked, “How does that square with the fact that this administration has been so aggressively trying to stop aggressive journalism in the United States by using the Espionage Act to take whistle-blowers to court?”  He then suggested that the administration seemed to believe that “the truth should come out abroad; it shouldn’t come out here.”  Read more.......
