Presidential Elections 2012 - #3495 - Eric Holder Targets Voter ID Laws Just in Time for 2012 Elections - Newsmax (2) Egregious Department of Labor Rules Yank Youths Out of Agriculture - Townhall (3) Jet Fuel is Obama's New Solyndra -

Gaffe-prone Attorney General Eric Holder came under new Republican fire on Wednesday after calling for an end to state laws requiring voters to show identification at polling stations.  Sen. John Cornyn of Texas immediately slammed Holder, saying: "Voter identification laws are constitutional and necessary to prevent fraud at the ballot box.  "Facing an election challenge next year, this administration has chosen to target efforts by the states to protect the democratic process," Cornyn said.  The increased pressure on Holder came on the same day that 22 House Republicans proposed a vote of no confidence in him for his handling of the Fast and Furious gunrunning scheme.  The move was headed by Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona, who told Newsmax that Holder’s speech was further proof that “he is completely out of his depth as attorney general.”  “In the game of baseball it’s three strikes and you’re out,” Gosar said.  “First, with the Fast and Furious gunrunning operation, then with the laundering of U.S taxpayers' money to Mexican cartels, and finally now an attempt to circumvent the states’ rights to promote secure elections, Attorney General Holder has shown that he is completely out of touch with the American people.  “If we are to maintain the integrity of the democratic process, it is not unreasonable that voters should show appropriate identification when they turn up at polling stations and for him to suggest otherwise flies in the face of common sense,” Gosar added. “I have already called on Mr. Holder to resign over Fast and Furious. This latest speech should serve as his final strike.”During his speech in Austin, Holder suggested a system that would automatically register all eligible voters and called for a ban on state legislators gerrymandering their own districts. This time it is not about his incompetence and lying to Congress on issues like Fast in Furious, but his attempt to further corrupt our election process. As the states are finally starting to make progress on cleaning up the fraud in our elections, Holder is not only attempting to block that progress, but force changes that would make it more corrupt. These changes would be put in place just in time for Obama's reelection attempt. The registration to vote and the voting on election day should require at least as much voter I. D. as it takes to cash a $5 check at Walmart. Does not our precious right to vote require us to maintain a system with the integrity that will not dilute every legally vote cast?

Egregious Department of Labor Rules Yank Youths Out of Agriculture - Townhall - The federal government is out of control. From the WSJ:  A useful proxy for the overall level of regulatory activity is the government document known as the Unified Agenda, which details all proposed or final rules and is compiled twice a year by the federal Regulatory Information Service Center. The nearby chart shows the trend of major rules under contemplation since 1995, including the most recent from this spring.  The current number of major new rules is 149, which is an historic high. Regulation started to grow in the aftermath of 9/11, and even more with the Pelosi Congress in 2007. Yet both the rule-making rate and number are surging to even higher levels under Mr. Obama. So, what are some of the regulations coming out of our all-knowing, far-sighted, disinterested national government? Here’s a recent doozie: the U.S. Department of Labor wants to prevent kids from being exposed to “farm-related safety hazards,” and is basically barring youths from any sort of employment in the agriculture industry. It’s so ill-thought out, it’s mind-boggling.  Read more, see chart on number of rules costing more than $100 million a year........... Steve Peters - The Obama administration has never listened to the majority of the American people, but instead steadily through legislation, regulations, and executive fiat attempted to change America into a European style socialist state. Since we handed him a resounding defeat at the polls in 2010, he has stepped up the takeover by executive fiat. He must be removed, and until then the Courts and the House of Representatives must do everything within their legal power to stop him.

Jet Fuel is Obama's New Solyndra - -  Ecofanaticism: SolyndraGate was no isolated case of corrupt government misspending. The U.S. Navy was just forced to buy 450,000 gallons of biofuels from an Obama-connected firm at an outrageous $16 per gallon.  The massive Obama stimulus was supposed to generate millions of jobs, but the $535 million loan guarantee it gave to solar panel maker Solyndra on the eve of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy illustrated the fundamental incompetence of Obama's neo-Keynesian economic ideology.  Now we find the Navy partnering with the Agriculture Department to purchase hundreds of thousands of gallons of alternative biofuel in place of standard JP-5 fuel for Navy aircraft — the biggest federal purchase of biofuel ever.  Read more..........  Article contributed by Steve Peters
