Virginia Abortion Clinics - #3249 - Virginia Approves Strict New Rules for Abortion Clinics - Washington Times (2) Obama Continues to Prop Up Planned Parenthood Against States' Wishes - Hot Air

After hearing from more than 30 speakers during hours of debate, the Virginia Board of Health on Thursday approved sweeping changes to abortion-clinic regulations that abortion-rights groups say will close many of the state's 22 clinics. Acting under a mandate from the Legislature, the board passed the new rules on a 12-1 vote. Administration officials did not provide any competitive process for other non-abortion agencies to compete for the $1 million grant, and the newspaper said HHS officials indicated that was done because Planned Parenthood was the sole grant recipient previously.  But, arguably, it’s the arrogance and disregard for the decisions of elected officials that make HHS’s decision so objectionable.  Read more........
