Obama's New Gun Rules - #3069 - Executive Orders Impose New Gun Rules - The Blaze (2) "Operation Castaway" - Did ATF Sell Guns to Honduran Gangs Too? - The Blaze

A few days ago, the Blaze reported on the low-key plans of the Obama administration to increase the penalties for certain gun law violations, and add steps to the background checks for legal gun ownership. Today the administration’s plans are beginning to come into effect. Through an Executive Order, the Obama administration is implementing new restrictions on the sale of certain weapons in border states, and increasing the penalties for violating certain firearms laws. Fox News is reporting on the purpose of the gun control executive orders: “In an effort to stem the illicit flow of weapons into Mexico, the Justice Department announced Monday that all gun shops in four Southwest border states will be required to alert the federal government to frequent buyers of high-powered rifles. Under the new policy, federal firearms licensees in Texas, California, Arizona and New Mexico must report purchases of two or more of some types of rifles by the same person in a five-day span. The requirement applies to purchases of semi-automatic rifles that have detachable magazines and a caliber of greater than .22........A national electronic system designed to make background checks for handgun buyers simpler and faster, leaving an electronic paper trail. [And] Tougher sentencing guidelines for straw buyers that Holder’s department pushed through procedural hoops at the U.S. Sentencing Commission earlier this year.”  Read more.......

"Operation Castaway" - Did ATF Sell Guns to Honduran Gangs Too? - The Blaze - The “Project Gunrunner” case is now pointing towards possible ATF sales of weapons bound for Honduras, including a reported 1,000 guns to members of the ruthless MS-13 gang. The program is called “Operation Castaway,“ and in reports it sounds remarkably similar to ”Operation Fast and Furious.” Last week, the Blaze reported on the controversy surrounding “Operation Fast and Furious,” an offshoot of the Project Gunrunner program. The Attorney General is under scrutiny after allegations that the ATF knowingly allowed straw buyers in the US to purchase weapons bound for Mexican drug cartels and “let them walk,” meaning they dropped surveillance on the buyers and lost track of the weapons. There are also accusations that as part of the Project Gunrunner program, ATF agents told gun store owners to sell to suspected criminals, against the owners’ objections, and that there was a top down ATF policy that accepted the weapons would cross international boundaries...........Now, there may be even more questions for the AG coming from Congress, as the “Operation Castaway” program may have placed weapons in the hands of MS-13, an international criminal syndicate.  Read more........

Police State Lynchburg -  Lynchburg Tea Party - The Lynchburg Tea Party is reaching out to community groups all across the city and across political lines to fight an issue that will directly effect you and your neighbors.  The City of Lynchburg is trying to give the planning commission (building permits, code enforcement, etc) the ability to issue search warrants if they suspect “code” violations.  This is an outright violation of the 4th amendment.  The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.  Read more.........
