Republican National Committee Ad - "Change Direction" - The Republican National Committee (RNC) was woefully ineffective during the 2008 election cycle. The lone bright spot may have been how the online communications team pioneered the way for the social networking site Twitter to be integrated into campaigns and the campaign cycle. Other than that, the RNC underperformed in 2008 across many different metrics, particularly when it came to communications and messaging and hitting upon themes that would connect with average Americans. An adveristment indicting President Obama with Obama's own words at the 2008 Democratic National Convention that the RNC released today may signal that in 2012, the RNC may be able to give the GOP nominee plenty of air cover that makes an impact. According to a press release, the ad is titled "Change Direction" and "highlights President Obama’s failed economic policies and the disastrous course he has set for America’s economy." The ad also, according to the RNC, "marks the beginning of a month-long economic messaging campaign that will reach into battleground states and test new digital marketing strategies"  Read more......... This clip has been viewed 27,617 times.

Charles Hurt: Welcome to Jimmy Carter's 2nd Term - Washington Times - It has taken three decades, but Americans are finally living through Jimmy Carter’s second term.  Now we’ve got Jimmy Jr. barking at us from the White House about eating our peas and ripping off our Band-Aid. He might not even let us have our Social Security checks.  These are just the latest in a long line of nagging lectures. Already, we have been taught how we should sneeze into the crook of our arm. We need to drive less. And we need to caulk up those drafty houses of ours.  What ever happened to the soaring rhetoric and big bold ideas President Obama promised us in that historic election of his?  Is this what he meant by a new kind of politics? If so, no thanks. Oh, and it is not new. Jimmy already dragged us through all this once and we just barely survived it.  One of the most unpleasant things about Mr. Carter was the condescending disdain he could barely disguise for struggling Americans and their irritating malaise.  Read more.......
