Steve Peters Commentary - #2976 - Massive Forest Fires Due to Forest Service Incompetence - Townhall (2) Attack of the NGOs, Non-governmental Organizations - For America-by-Americans

The Arizona Wallow fire is the second largest fire the state has ever seen. The cause of the fire is being blamed on dry weather, which of course plays a part in increasing fire danger, however, the issue of massive forest fires is much greater than the Forest Service wants the public to know. Forest Service incompetence when it comes to forest management is a major factor contributing to the burning of the West.  The massive Arizona blaze known as the Wallow Fire has charred more than 386,000 acres with just 5 percent containment, as flames continue to burn out of control Thursday. ......... Ranchers, who deal with the government bureaucracy of the Forest Service on a regular basis, aren't fans of the burdensome regulations put into place by the federal agency with the backing of environmental groups. Moratoriums on cattle grazing, logging, brush clearing and removal of private industry in the forests based on arguments of environmental protection have led to the devastation of lives and our forests.  The fire problem in the West has resulted from an unnaturally large buildup of dry, highly-flammable excess wood in the forests. Before the government began to suppress forest fires in the early 20th century, frequent small fires cleaned out the underbrush. Large ponderosa pines, for example, often grew in open stands with densities between 20 and 50 trees per acre. Now, as a result of preventing forest fires, smaller, crowded, less healthy trees often grow in the same places with densities of 300 to 700 trees per acre.  Read more......  SP: Behind almost every major preventable disasters is our ever growing Federal Government. Liberal Ideology driven regulations and a lack of common sense can be found throughout the ever increasing pile of federal paperwork being generated in Washington D.C. How much of our liberties and wealth will the American people let Obama, his party, and his appointed bureaucrats consume, before they remove them from office?

Attack of Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) One rarely hears of it. Few elected officials raise an eyebrow. The media makes no mention of it. But power is slowly slipping away from our elected representatives. In much the same way Mao Tse-tung had his Red Guards, so the UN has its NGOs They may well be your masters of tomorrow, and you don’t even know who or what they are.  There are, in fact, two parallel, complimentary forces operating in the world, working together to advance the global Sustainable Development agenda, ultimately heading toward UN global governance. Those two forces are the UN itself and non-governmental organizations (NGOs.)  Beginning with the United Nations, the infrastructure pushing the Sustainable Development agenda is a vast, international matrix. At the top of the heap is the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP). Created in 1973 by the UN General Assembly, the UNEP is the catalyst through which the global environmental agenda is implemented. Virtually all of the international environmental programs and policy changes that have occurred globally in the past three decades are the result of UNEP efforts.  But the UNEP doesn’t operate on its own. Influencing it and helping to write policy are thousands of non- governmental organizations (NGOs). These are private groups which seek to implement a specific political agenda. Through the UN infrastructure, particularly through the UNEP, they have great power.  Read more.........
