Who's to blame for near-record gasoline prices? According to a new IBD/TIPP poll, it's oil companies and speculators. That could be good news for President Obama and his Democratic colleagues — who've been attacking both — and bad news for Republicans hoping to expand domestic oil exploration and drilling. Whether the public is casting blame in the right direction is another question. Read more........ SP: If we have reached the point where a significant minority of the voting public is ignorant of the facts on this important issue, then perhaps Thomas Jefferson's quote below should them something to reflect on, if they can still read and comprehend simple concepts.  "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be." (as cited in Padover, 1939, p. 89)
". . . whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government; that, whenever things get so far wrong as to attract their notice, they may be relied on to set them right." (as cited in Padover, 1939, p. 88)

Crass and Cynical on Illegal Immigration- Townhall Finance - If you didn’t notice, the president is running for President again.  That’s why all of sudden he’s gotten interested in “comprehensive” immigration reform.  If that sounds crass and cynical, then you are right. Crass and Cynical run the White House for at least 19 more months, dispensing law and justice to the rest of us.  The guy who rushed out to get trillions for banks, big pharmaceuticals and unions, practically ignored the topic of immigration reform when his guys ran Congress for two years and could have written their own version. If Obama signs the order, he will effectively restore the partisan spoils system in federal contracting that civil service reformers struggled for decades to eradicate.  Read more....... SP: You would think that even the liberal politicians in Congress would at some point start getting a little upset with Obama for putting his foot on their necks and grabbing the powers the Founding Fathers provided to Congress in the Constitution. As each day passing, we move in the direction of a third world dictatorship, and will continue to do so, until the Courts and Congress start pushing back on Obama's illegal power grab. All this goes on with the liberal lapdog media cheering Obama on from the bleachers, instead of doing their job by holding him accountable for what he actual does.

Obama Executive Order On Federal Contractors Under Fire from Dem Senators - Hot Air - The momentum against the planned executive order from Barack Obama to force managers at government contractors to disclose political contributions to independent organizations gained momentum today as two key Democrats in the Senate joined Republicans in opposition. Joe Lieberman and Claire McCaskill, the latter of whom faces an uncertain re-election bid in 2012, signed a letter written by Rob Portman objecting to the politicization of government contracting that Obama’s EO would inevitably produce:  Read more.........
