Global Warming? - # 2801 - Coolest March Since 1994 - ACCU Weather (2) EPA's Cap and Trade UpHeld, Thanks to Obama and Harry Reid - Human Eventsl (3) Global Warming Alarmism's Long March Thru State and Local Institutions - American Thinkers

Remote Sensing Systems has released their satellite measured temperature data for the month of March 2011. March 2011 ended up as the coolest March globally since March of 1994. The actual global temperature anomaly for the lower troposphere last month was negative 0.026 C.  This is also the first month since June of 2008 that the global temperature anomaly was in the negative. The RSS image gives you a visual of where the warmer and colder than normal regions were across the globe for March 2011.  Read more.......

EPA's Cap and Trade Upheld, Thanks to Obama and Harry Reid - Human Events - President Obama will veto the bill passed by the Republican House on Thursday, which prevents the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from regulating greenhouse emissions. Also on Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.) successfully maneuvered to prevent passage of the same legislation, sponsored by Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R.-Ky.). Congressional Republicans are trying to stop the Obama administration’s EPA from continuing to implement new regulations that tax businesses and raise gas prices in order to pursue its climate change agenda. The EPA is using the Clean Air Act (CAA) as a vehicle for its new cap-and-trade (or “cap-and-tax”) regulations. EPA regulations of carbon dioxide emissions that come from coal, oil, and natural gas raise the energy cost to consumers, which trickles down to increase the cost of everything from gasoline to groceries.  Read more........

Global Warming Alarmism's Long March Through State and Local Institutions - American Thinker -   It's tempting to be complacent about the progress made against global warming alarmism. Climate legislation seems to be stalled in the U.S. Congress. A recent Gallup poll shows that concern about global warming among the American public is at historic lows; a mere 32% of Americans believe that global warming will affect them during their lifetimes.......We have witnessed the Obama administration attempting an end run around Congress by siccing the EPA on "carbon polluters." Another means of pushing climate legislation that makes fewer headlines is the multitude of activities at state and local levels. A flyer for a meeting titled "Green Future 2020" that I attended in Cambridge, Massachusetts last week makes this exact point:  As the federal government continues to falter in its efforts to impose any meaningful standards of carbon emission control, it now falls to the states to step into the breach and push for innovative advances in clean, renewable energy to safeguard our environment and revitalize our national economy. The Pew Center on Global Climate Change likewise agrees that "states and regions are acting as both leaders and innovators of climate change policy."  Read more........  See tab above on this web site, Private Property Rights, Agenda 21 and ICLEI for more information on what the states may be implementing.
