Freedoms Lost - #2779 - A New Protection Racket in Wisconsin? - Hot Air (2) Wisconsin Grandmother, Owner of Dollar Store, Stands Up to Union Threats -The Blaze (3) Will a Professor Lose His Job at UCLA for Sticking to Science Over Politics - The Blaze

Quick — we need Barack Obama’s bullying task force in Wisconsin stat. The AFL-CIO has launched a campaign of intimidation against Wisconsin businesses, demanding that owners prominently display a flyer declaring support for the unions against Scott Walker’s budget-repair law. If union members don’t see the flyer, the AFL-CIO declares that union members will boycott the business and that neutrality is not an option: Dated March 28, 2011, the letter is addressed to “DEAR UNION GROVE AREA BUSINESS OWNER/MANAGER,” in Racine County. And it begins with this warm greeting: “It is unfortunate that you have chosen ‘not’ to support public workers rights in Wisconsin. In recent past weeks you have been offered a sign(s) by a public employee(s) who works in one of the state facilities in the Union Grove area. These signs simply said ‘This Business Supports Workers Rights,’ a simple, subtle and we feel non-controversial statement given the facts at this time.”  Read more......

Wisconsin Grandmother, owner of Dollar Store, Stands Up to Union Threats In Wisconsin - The Blaze - What does it take to stand up to the threats from union bullies in Wisconsin? Dawn Bobo knows.  Dawn is a self-described, 54 year old grandmother who runs a ‘dollar store’ in Union Grove, Wisconsin. She was recently approached by union thugs who demanded that she post their sign in her store window.  She said ‘no thanks’ and was threatened with boycotts unless she complied with the pressure from AFSCME.  Instead she posted her own sign.Dawn stood her ground and has received an outpouring of support from the community, with some reports saying that her business has quadrupled!  See Dolly and her sign above.  AW:  Please watch, her business has quadrupled since she took this position standing up for her rights again the unions, what courage.

Will a Professor Lose His Job for Sticking to Science Over Politics - The Blaze -Dwayne Whitney owns a trucking business. He started it decades ago with only one truck. Since then, his company has grown. Now he has 18 trucks and 20 employees. But that growth may soon be stunted by the state of California.  “The State of California says my trucks are killing people,” Whitney told ReasonTV. “What do you say to that?” The California Air Resources Board (CARB) said this: that the pollution emitted from buses and trucks contributes to 2,000 deaths a year in California.  Rubbish! says UCLA’s Dr. James Enstrom. That number is probably closer to zero, he says. While CARB wants to render Whitney’s trucks illegal, Enstrom has research that could keep Whitney’s fleet on the road.  Read more........
