Daily Commentary by Steve Peters - Owner of Va. Beach Abortion Clinic Had License Suspended in New Jersey - Virginia Pilot - An abortion provider who recently was disciplined in New Jersey for transporting late-term abortion patients between states owns a women's health clinic not far from the Little Neck section of the city. Dr. Steven C. Brigham had his medical license suspended last fall by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners after authorities discovered he had begun at least five late-term abortions in New Jersey and then transported the patients to his clinic in Maryland, where state law allows second-trimester abortions outside a hospital, according to news reports.  Read more........
George Allen: Obama is Pumping High Octane Pain Into the American Economy - Washington Times -Each morning over the past several weeks, Americans have watched gasoline and diesel prices skyrocket, igniting worries about the potential for a record-setting spring and summer of high fuel and food costs. Prices have not spiked this quickly since Hurricane Katrina in 2005; in fact, we are experiencing the second highest weekly spike in prices since 1990, according to the Energy Information Administration.  Several factors are behind the turbulence in the oil markets. The global market has responded to the unrest in the Middle East and North Africa with speculative higher prices. Growing demand from China and India for oil, gas and coal has changed the dynamics of world energy needs.  Read more........ SP: Drill Baby Drill! To increase energy production, and lower gas prices you must elect whoever is the Republican nominee for Virginia's U.S. Senate Seat. Your vote will also go a long way towards removing Harry Reid as the Senate Majority Leader.
He Wanted $5.00 Plus Gas to Make His Alternative Energy Scheme Competitive - Could Gas Prices Sink Obama's Reelection - Real Clear Politics - In December, the former president of Shell Oil, John Hofmeister, told an energy trade group that Americans could be paying $5 a gallon for gasoline by 2012. Turmoil has since come to the Middle East and with it, soaring gas prices.  Could this president be reelected with $5 a gallon gas? Hofmeister termed it a "worst case scenario." Indeed. Yet less sensational scenarios also threaten Barack Obama's presidency. High fuel prices do not assure presidential trouble. But there is a statistically significant correlation between what Americans pay at the pump and a president's public standing, based on a RealClearPolitics study of the average gasoline price, adjusted for inflation, and Gallup presidential approval ratings since 1976.  Read more........... SP:  I am sure if there is any contorted way to attempt to blame this on Bush and the evil oil companies, look for Obama and the Democrats to do it. Government invests NOTHING to help produce oil, but makes more direct money on the sale of a gallon of gas then anyone else in the process, about 15%. This does not include indirect costs like local property taxes and a multitude of other government costs. They create layers of road blocks and regulations that further drive up the costs.
