Ohio Town Removes 'Easter' from Egg Hunt - The Blaze - We’re familiar with the “war on Christmas,” but what about the war on Easter? It looks like it’s starting. An Ohio town has decided that the local East egg hunt is just too exclusive, and decided to rename this weekend’s seasonal event to “The Spring Egg Hunt.” Doesn’t quite have the same ring, does it? The controversy in Munson Township centers around the event being sponsored by taxpayers. A private sponsor has come forward, however, and is now offering to foot the bill: Still, township trustees are opting to call this year’s Easter weekend event “The Spring Egg Hunt.” Dance choreographer Matt Martsolf works with kids every day and has a few of his own. His opinion about what to call this year’s egg hunt is shared with dance clients. “Stop the headache. Just let the kids have their day,” Martsolf said.  Read more......

Boy Suspended for Bringing Bible to School Files Suit - The Blaze - A San Diego-area teen suspended for bringing his Bible to school and talking about his faith has filed a lawsuit against the school district, the superintendent, an assistant principal, and a teacher.  In January 2010, 16-year-old Kenneth Dominguez was suspended for two days from Gateway East High School for violating a teacher’s order not to bring his Bible to school and not to discuss his faith with others. Dominguez’s Bible was even confiscated by that teacher, who said Dominguez’s actions violated “separation of church and state:”“He didn’t give any sermons or yell or scream… just sharing his faith with other students. That was it,” Brad Dacus, Dominguez’s attorney, told KGTV, adding that we don’t live in communist China. Even the ACLU is calling the case a “clear” free-speech violation. Read more......

Muslim Girl, 14, Lashed to Death for Alleged Adultery - The Blaze -14-year-old Hena Akhter was found guilty of adultery and sentenced to 101 public lashes under Shariah law.  She died from being flogged — despite Shariah law being outlawed in Bangladesh — but doctors tried to cover that up.  Her family claims she was raped by a cousin.  Police are now investigating the incident.  Up until her last breath, young Hena Akhter declared her innocence. But that didn’t matter. The 14-year-old Bangladeshi Muslim girl was lashed to death, accused of adultery.  The imam at the local mosque said she was guilty of having an affair with a married man. Her family said she was raped. The imam disagreed. He ordered a fatwa: 101 public lashes. She lasted only 70.  Her father is pictured above.   Read more.........

Mass. College Considers Banning Perfume, Cologne on Campus - The Blaze -Earlier this month we told you about a Nevada bill that would ban air fresheners and fragrances in public places. Well, it seems Nevada isn‘t the only state that’s flipping out over fragrance. Now, a college in Massachusetts — Framingham State University — is mulling a ban on perfume and cologne (and fragrances in general) on campus:Human resources director Rita Colucci tells Fox25 she considered the ban after hearing complaints from several faculty members. They told her that chemicals found in fragrances, cleaners and disinfectants can cause health problems, particularly with people who have asthma.  Colucci admits enforcing such a ban would be tough. A meeting will be held on campus next Wednesday to further the discussion.
