House GOP Budget Resolutions- #2652 - The Party of No Sleep - Calls Needed for Defunding of Planned Parenthood - Family Research CouncilTop 10 Continuing Resolution Amendments for Conservatives to Watch - Human Events

TELEPHONE CALLS NEEDED FOR DEFUNDING PLANNED PARENTHOOD,  AMENDMENT #11 -   In Virginia 5th District - call  Robert Hurt - 202-225-4711.  After working into the wee hours the night before, members were just leaving their offices yesterday morning when most Americans were headed to theirs. At 4:04 a.m., a few hundred bleary-eyed congressmen (and their dedicated staffs!) finally made their way to the exits for a couple hours of sleep before trekking back to the Hill for Thursday's business. At last count, 583 amendments had been offered to the continuing resolution (CR)--prompting House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) to warn members that debate might stretch beyond today's deadline. Our friends on the Hill say members' phones are ringing off the hook with pressure to keep abortion dollars in the budget. Rep. Frank Guinta (R-N.H.) told us yesterday that his office alone has fielded at least a hundred calls--and none of them were from pro-lifers. Maybe voters are under the assumption that they can take it easy now that conservatives are the House majority. Nothing could be further from the truth. Your representatives need to hear from you that they're moving in the right direction--especially today, as two hugely important amendments are being offered. At some point this afternoon, Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) is following through with Amendment #11, which would block Planned Parenthood from getting a single taxpayer penny under the CR. Another FRC friend, Rep. John Fleming (R-La.), is submitting Amendment #54 to protect health care workers who have moral objections to abortion or birth control by implementing conscience exemptions.  Take a minute now to contact your congressmen and encourage them to vote for Amendments #11 and #54. In this Congress, sleep may be overrated, but your phone calls are not! For some talking points, check out my op-ed with the author of Amendment #11, Rep. Mike Pence. Our column, "Getting Taxpayers out of the Abortion Business" was featured in today's Daily Caller.  Read the entire article......

The House Republicans are voting this week to cut government spending this year by at least $60 billion in the Continuing Resolution (CR). In addition to the base CR bill, there are 583 amendments (at last count) being offered to the CR in the open process on the floor this week. Many of the Republican amendments would further cut spending and defund liberal policies. Having poured through the 583 amendments and gotten input from key conservatives, below is a list of the 10 most important amendments for conservatives to monitor this week. 1. Cut $20 Billion More (Amendment No. 104)2. Defund ObamaCare Implementation (Amendment No. 575) 3. Prohibit IRS Funding for ObamaCare (Amendment No. 274) 4. Stop Net Neutrality (Amendment No. 9) 5.
