TSA and New Screening - #2420 - John Whitehead, The Rutherford Institute - Invasion of the Body Scanners: More Tales of Terror from the Unfriendly Skies (2) Are Body Scanners Dangerous to Your Health? - John Whitehead (3) VIDEO-AUDIO: Man Who Taped TSA Searching Shirtless Boy Describes Agents Intimidation - The Blaze

Invasion of the Body Scanners: More Tales of Terror from the Unfriendly Skies - The Rutherford Institute - The outrageous invasion of our privacy rights that is the whole-body scanner (and its equally outrageous counterpart, the full-body pat down) was hurriedly put in place by the government, before Americans could really comprehend what it would mean and whether they were willing to tolerate it. Yet where did the impetus for installing these scanners in our nation’s airports come from? And who’s responsible for this unfolding nightmare being unleashed on the American people?  As Reuters reported on Dec. 30, 2009, “The path toward rolling out wider use of whole-body security scanners in U.S. airports runs through the White House.... U.S. President Barack Obama could expedite such a deployment because the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) don’t need legislation from Congress to start using the devices at any of the 560 U.S. airports with scheduled airline service.”  Read more,,,,,,,,

Are Body Scanners Dangerous to Your Health? - John Whitehead - As the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) pushes forward with its plan to place full-body scanners in all American airports, experts in the scientific community are raising serious concerns that the full-body scanners are not medically safe for the millions of people that will be exposed to them each year. Even the Allied Pilots Association has urged its members to opt out of the body scanning measures because of the “ionizing radiation, which could be harmful to their health.”  In April 2010, four members of the University of California faculty relayed to Dr. John P. Holdren, President Obama’s Science and Technology czar, their concerns about the serious health risks posed to travelers by the whole body back scatter X-ray scanners. Dr. Sedat is a Professor Emeritus in Biochemistry and Biophysics, with expertise in imaging; Dr. Marc Sherman is an internationally well known and respected cancer expert; and Drs. David Agard and Robert Stroud are X-ray crystallographers and imaging experts. Suffice it to say, these men know what they’re talking about. So when they suggest that an immediate moratorium is needed on the use of the scanners in order to carry out a second independent evaluation to determine that the scanners really are safe, our government, which is supposed to protect us from these kinds of dangers, should listen.  Read more......... Please read this article, it contains valuable information I have not read anywhere else, these scanners could be very dangerous to our health.

Man Who Taped TSA Searching Shirtless Boy Describes Agents Intimidation - The Blaze -  A college student who videotaped TSA agents searching a young, shirtless boy* spoke out today about how an unidentified, black-suited man tried to get him to delete the video.  Utah Valley University student Luke Tait, who captured the event on Friday, told KSL radio today that after he got through security someone who appeared to be with the TSA tried to convince him that his just-captured video was invasive:  Read more........  Pretty scary stuff, how many of us would stand up to this intimidation, I would like to think I would.
