Private Property Rights - Sustainable Development - #2399 - (1) UN Agenda 21 (2) ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability (3) Livable Communities Act (Senate and House Bills) (4) Taking Liberty Articles (5) American Policy Center - Welborn Freedom Watch

Important Facts: Our Founding Fathers believed the right of Americans to own private property to be one of the most important fundamental rights, 77% of the U.S. Population lives in 3% of the U.S. lands, 94% of the U.S. is rural.  What has always set the U.S. apart from other countries is the ability to have private property rights, the majority of small businesses guarantee their private property in obtaining loans to start businesses.  I have created a new box on my web site, right column under Library of Congress, Bills to Watch,  titled: Private Property Rights - UN Agenda 21, ICLEI, Sustainable Development.  I first started receiving information on this subject from several friends who were concerned as to what was happening across the United States on several fronts regarding the gradual taking and changing of our private property rights thru zoning and efforts by several organizations who are behind the scenes, as well as on local, state and national levels attempting to return much of the United States to Wildlands.  I wanted to wait until after the November elections to convey this material so we all would be able to better focus on this issue.  At the Virginia Tea Party Convention in Richmond, I was able to talk with several people there and acquired more information, as this topic was a focus in several sessions and in the main forum.

There are Tea Party groups as well as concerned citizens across the United States that are trying to defund their communities from ICLEI, International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives, which has changed its name to Local Governments for Sustainability.  The City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County are already involved with ICLEI.   To see whether your community is involved with ICLEI, check this link, Special Report, Sustainable Development,  4th page .........  There are already over 500 towns and counties across the United States involved with this, 14 in Virginia.  Once I started researching this I became increasing alarmed as to what was happening, especially since two bills are in Congress right now, one was  just voted out of committee in August, especially with Democrats in power before the elections.  I do believe now these bills have less of a chance to be passed with our new Congress, see below for link to the bill.

I am concerned, however, with the power the Environmental Protection Agency has under the Obama  administration, especially with the regulations that have already been passed this year alone on the waterways, land rights and energy, etc.  Also, the UN Agenda 21 and ICLEI have many provisions that will and have been undermining property rights, and both are linked together, on published information, along with the Livable Communities Act of 2009, SB1619, HB 4690.  As Glenn Beck always notes, I am giving you the information, please read and determine for yourself if your community is involved.  Once you have read thru the information below, you will see many articles in your local newspapers thru a different filter with regard as to how these regulations and zoning may impact and take away your private property rights.   In the Charlottesville-Albemarle area alone, the group Advocates for a Sustainable Albemarle Population has presented information to the Charlottesville City Council and the Albemarle Board of Supervisors that our community "can only support 37,000 people at current consumption levels.  The current population is around 135,000."  This quote is from an article in the Daily Progress, 'Population group wary of UVa Growth, link to article.........   They didn't state what the county and city should do with the remaining 98,000 population that now lives here.

Here is a list of the information I have accumulated, I would suggest starting with the American Thinker articles, direct links:
