Glenn's Thanksgiving Challenge - November 22, 2010 - It's Thanksgiving week- everyone's starting to get in the holiday spirit and you're probably excited to enjoy a nice big meal with family and friends and watch some football. Great- but unfortunately, Glenn Beck has a challenge for you. That's right- leave it to Glenn to rain on your parade. This Thanksgiving, try to think past the turkey, stuffing and football and talk to your family about some things that really matter. Are they prepared for what might be coming? Although it might lead to you being thrown outside or locked in the basement if you're not careful- Tonight, Glenn gives us a few great Turkey Day conversation starters.  Part 2 ..........., Part 3...........  Glenn Beck also mentioned in this show that this was National Bible Week, which I hate to admit I had never heard of before.  Transcript of show..........

National Bible Week 2010

NATIONAL BIBLE WEEK 2010:
Sunday, November 21 through Sunday, November 28.
WHAT IS NATIONAL BIBLE WEEK?
National Bible Association’s signature event has been celebrated the week of Thanksgiving every year since 1941. Our goal is to raise awareness of the Bible’s importance and relevance to our nation as a whole, as well as in the lives of individuals.
COMMEMORATING 2010 NATIONAL BIBLE WEEK:
INTERFAITH CONCERT OF PRAISE
A night of worship for God’s Word will be held at the Basilica of the Assumption in Baltimore, MD on November 21st at 2 pm. Choirs and individual singers will honor the Word of God from many of the Judeo-Christian traditions.
PUBLIC BIBLE READING
On November 22nd at noon, we will invite political, civic and religious leaders to gather and read the Bible publicly from the balcony of Baltimore City Hall.
(If you would like to participate in your area, simply get a small or large group together at your house of worship, workplace, home, or other location to read the Bible aloud.)

He also mentioned this book, 'Greatest Words Ever Spoken: Everything Jesus Said About You, Your Life, and Everything Else' - by Stephen K. Scott - Every Word of Jesus Right at Your Fingertips  Haven’t you wished you could ask Jesus any question and get his immediate help with the biggest problems you face? Now you can.  For the first time ever, all of the statements Jesus made in the New Testament have been brought together and organized under more than 200 topics. When you want to know his will in a specific area of life, or you’re seeking the answer to a perplexing question, or you are desperate for his encouragement, comfort, or wisdom–you can easily find the help you need.  The moment you turn to the appropriate topic heading, you will have access to the breadth of Jesus’ teaching on that subject. You can also use this book as a guide for studying Jesus’ wisdom on any topic of interest, such as prayer, forgiveness, eternity, anger, temptation, relationships, grace, or knowing God.  As you immerse yourself in Jesus’ words, your life and relationships will be transformed, and your faith and spiritual passion will be renewed. Let the greatest words ever spoken bring new vision, power, and joy into your life–one statement at a time.  I intend to give it as Thanksgiving gifts to our families, sorry in Charlottesville at Barnes and Noble, I bought the last several copies.
