Robert Hurt is extending an invitation to President Obama and Congressman Perriello to join him in a small business roundtable discussion in Martinsville, Virginia tomorrow, where Robert will be listening and talking to small business leaders about how to solve the unemployment problems in Virginia.
This would provide President Obama and Congressman Perriello an excellent opportunity to explain how their job killing policies have devastated the 5th District, and President Obama can explain to the people of Martinsville how he has failed to make their lives “a little bit better.”
FLASHBACK:Back in 2008, President Obama made a campaign stop in Martinsville, Virginia where he made the following promise in a town hall meeting: “…But what I can do is I can say that I’m going to wake up every day thinking about you [the people of Martinsville] and thinking about how to make your life a little bit better.” (Roanoke Times, “Economy key during Barack Obama’s Virginia trip,” 8/21/10)
Consider this another broken promise of the Obama Administration. Following the job killing policies of the Obama-Pelosi-Perriello agenda, Martinsville’s unemployment remains over 20 percent.
