Voters in 11 states cast ballots in primary elections Tuesday, giving new signals about the reach of an anti-Washington, anti-incumbent tide that has left its mark on earlier races this year.......

Reps. Tom Perriello and Glenn Nye swept into office in the Democratic tide of 2008, representing Republican-leaning districts. Now, they are among the most vulnerable members of the House, and Republicans are lining up for the right to challenge them in November. Mr. Perriello won by just 727 votes last time. Seven Republicans are battling to take him on, with state Sen. Robert Hurt the choice of establishment Republicans. Attempting to weaken Mr. Hurt, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has attacked him for voting to raise taxes.
