Steve Peters - #1740 - Commentary Feature - Postings from the Right

Steve Peters, Conservative Activist and Tea Party Patriot - Posting from the Right - Steve invites all comments on his views.

A few thoughts on the UVA statement on Michael Mann Investigation  Virginia Attorney General, see box in top middle column Steve Peters 'Pages.'  If all the review by the scientific community was so "exacting" and the peer review so "stringent," why did it take someone removed from this "Scientific community" to find the problems with the "hockey stick?" Why did someone on their own time and money, outside this specialized "community" (funded with hundreds of millions of dollars by Government) have to bring this issue out in the open for discussion? Why did the British Government investigation point out several areas of concerns on the climate research done by the East Anglia University Climate Research Unit (CRU)? Why were those asking legitimate questions told to shut up and sit down, the debate is over? Those now so concerned about First Amendment speech rights were silent, when it benefited their cause. As the Queen said in Hamlet, "The Lady Doth Protest Too Much, Methinks."
The British Parliament's published results of an investigation of the CRU and it's "Scientific Work" seems to disagree with the UVA University Position Statement. Quoting from the British Government Investigation article below, " Integrity is at the very heart of the anthropogenic global warming(AGW) debate -- not just the integrity of the discredited scientists involved, but also the integrity of the data used by the CRU. For many years, the global warming skeptics have been citing that the differing data sets are not in agreement and have asked the simple question "why?" But enough said, like Fox News, "We Report You Decide." Read both the article and position statement, then decide which one you are willing to put your money on, because if the government has it's way, you will be paying for global warming....a whole lot of it. Two Michael Crichton quotes,“Whenever you hear the consensus of scientists agrees on something or other, reach for your wallet, because you're being had.” and “Historically, the claim of consensus has been the first refuge of scoundrels; it is a way to avoid debate by claiming that the matter is already settled.”
The only thing worse than BIG Government trying to help us is when they may be driven to do so because of political correctness. Cap and trade is back and is going to cost us dearly if it ever passes out of our Congress in ANY form. Read the Townhall article below of 20 examples of results of the government trying to "help" us.
Thanks Big Government, but think we should pass on your offer of trying to control the climate on this Third Rock From The Sun. Unfortunately offers from the government are like those in The Godfather Movie, they are put forward as offers "you cannot refuse". 'Global warming -- at least the modern nightmare vision -- is a myth. I am sure of it and so are a growing number of scientists. But what is really worrying is that the world's politicians and policy makers are not.' David Bellamy, Daily Mail, July 9, 2004.  Phasing out the human race will solve every problem on earth, social and environmental. -- Dave Forman, Founder of Earth First!
A "Real" and "Scientific" climate conference is going on, The Heartland Climate Conference see the article below.
