Health Care Bill HR3590- #1651 - Thank Perriello for the Coming of Increased Health Costs - Virginia 5th District Watchdog

Ever since Congressman Tom Perriello’s ill considered vote for ObamaCare, he’s been defending the new law. He even sent a mailer (at taxpayer expense) trying to convince us that we’ll see lower costs and better health security. But as usual, Perriello’s not telling the whole truth. A new report by the Health and Human Services Department shows the law will neither cut costs nor improve access to care. The report says national health care spending will increase by $311 billion from 2010-2019 rather than being reduced like Perriello and his Democratic cronies promised. On top of that, the report says the new law is unrealistic and unsustainable. About 14 million people will lose their health coverage as smaller companies end coverage and force their workers to enroll in Medicaid. New fees and taxes on medical device makers will be passed on to consumers in the form of higher prices and higher insurance premiums. And the increased demand for Medicaid will reduce everyone’s access to care. Brace yourselves. Your health care costs are going up and your access to care is going down. We suggest you thank Perriello by voting him out of office in November.

Where are Virginia Republicans on Obamacare Repeal - Tertium Quids - The WaPo's Dave Weigel wonders why Republican House members aren't signing on to either of the bills that would repeal Obamacare. The reason, says one of the bill sponsors, Rep. Steve King, appears to be timidity:  "What I run into," King told me recently, "is that you ask Republicans to support 100 percent full repeal, but there are a number of them that aren't committed to full repeal. Read more....... If you live in Virginia, call your Congressman in Washington to urge them to sign on.
