Going on Sabbatical - Welborn Freedom Watch - After 4-1/2 years and 4600 posts, I am going to take a break from daily posting on this site. I have planned this for awhile, but wanted to remain consistent until after the election, regardless of the results.  I am very disappointed as to the outcomes in Albemarle, Charlottesville and statewide, as I know most of you are. I have always admired Ken Cuccinelli, he is one of the first candidates to actually keep the campaign promises he made 4 years ago, when he took office as Attorney General. I have met him several times and he was always such a warm, compassionate, pro-life, spiritual man who loved his family.  I appreciate that he always stood up for all the babies who seem to be forgotten in this much advertised 'War on Women,' which is actually a 'War on  Babies.' Hopefully he will have another chance to represent Virginians who love his conservative views.

My Web Site will remain up, with information that can always be accessed, along with all the web sites listed that I have used everyday to do research and posting. I may return from time to time, but not on a regular basis.  I intend to spend more time with God, my husband, family, our wonderful grandchildren, and all the things I love, but have not had time for in the last four years. Thanks for all the encouragement I have received over the years, the help from family and friends to even get started, and especially to my husband who never complained over the hours I have spent at the computer and always encouraged me in whatever I needed to do. I hope others who have been exposed to other web sites here, will continue to work hard making phone calls to Congressmen, Senators, State representatives and Supervisors whenever we need to defend our faith, property rights, freedoms and liberties. We have much to do to continue to be vigilant and never give up. I will always continue to volunteer and find ways to also defend our rights as Christians and Americans. I have learned much over this time, and I thank God for all he has blessed us with, and especially this wonderful country that we must preserve for our children, grandchildren and their continued families. The above photo was taken in June at the American Cemetery, while visiting Omaha Beach, Normandy France, It was the highlight of our trip and such a moving experience.  These men and women made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedoms and liberties we now enjoy and could lose.   God Bless, Audrey

(2) Betsy McCaughey - If You Like Your God, You Can Keep Him - Human Events - On Nov. 1, the Gilardi brothers, devout Roman Catholics who operate their own fresh produce business in Ohio, won round two in a battle against the White House. The Obama administration tried to claim that freedom of religion means freedom to pray, not necessarily to practice your beliefs. Once you leave church, you have to obey government regulations, even when they conflict with your faith. Read more....

(3) The Chicago Way Comes to Obamacare - Why Will Rates Be Highest in States that Didn't Vote for Obama - American Thinker -  You have been warned! President Barack Obama (D) really does practice what he preaches. (No, it is not what you're thinking.) According to FactCheck, Obama, an enthusiastic practitioner of The Chicago Way, did once say of Republicans: "If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun." Read more........
(4) Sebelius Bombshell: Employer Based Plan Will Face Same Grandfather Regulations as Lost Individual Plans - Townhall - .......What they didn't mention is the "grandfathering" process comes with caveats, meaning if plans didn't meet new Obamacare standards, they would be cancelled. Because of those caveats, millions of Americans in the individual health insurance market have lost their health insurance plans despite being promised they could keep them. Today, Sebelius admitted employer based insurance plans will also be cancelled as a result of grandfathering caveats and government requirements making plans illegal under Obamacare. "Employer based grandfathered plans will have the same caveats," Sebelius said under questioning from Republican Senator John Thune. Read more.....

(5) It's Time to End ENDA - American Thinker - It's no secret that the true purpose of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) is to "help bring marriage equality closer." ENDA would elevate sexual orientation to a protected status under workplace nondiscrimination laws. Indeed, laws have already been used to achieve legal recognition for homosexual unions in several states, even when supposed safeguards are included in the legislation. Gay rights advocates are quite open in declaring the passing of ENDA as an important incremental step in achieving a redefinition of marriage. Read more........

A Furious Mark Levin Reacts to Rep. Ken Cuccinelli's Loss in Virginia Governor's Race - Find Out Why He's Livid - The Blaze - A furious Mark Levin reacted to Republican Ken Cuccinelli’s loss to Democrat Terry McAuliffe in the Virginia governor’s race, blaming the “GOP establishment” and “RINO mouthpieces” for the narrow defeat. He posted the following response on his website, MarkLevinShow.com: WE COULD HAVE WON THIS RACE. FOR THE REASONS I HAVE EXPLAINED HERE AND ON THE AIR, GOP ESTABLISHMENT AND DONORS LEFT THE FIELD. NOW, NOT ONLY THE LIBERALS BUT THE RINO MOUTHPIECES CONTINUE WITH THEIR MANTRA ABOUT THE DEAD TEA PARTY AND THE RINO FUTURE. ABSOLUTELY APPALLING! (And they did not spend even $3 million, that was a phony number.) RT@seanmdav: In 2009, the RNC spent $9M to win VA by 17 points. Looks like it’ll have spent $3M in 2013 to lose by a hair. Dummies McAuliffe was named the winner of the race Tuesday night. However, Cuccinelli and the third-party “libertarian” candidate Robert Sarvis combined for more than 50 percent of the vote. With 97 percent of the precincts reporting, McAuliffe was leading Cuccinelli 47.3 percent to 46 percent. Sarvis received 6.6 percent of the vote. TheBlaze reported on Tuesday that a former Obama campaign bundler curiously helped fund Sarvis’ campaign in the race. Read our exclusive report for more information. Read more.......

(3) Department of Homeland Security to Hire 'Top Secret' Domestic Security Force - Infowars The Department of Homeland Security is to spend $19 million dollars on a private security force in Wisconsin and Minnesota, an armed unit that must have a “Top Secret” security clearance according to an official solicitation. According to a solicitation posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website, the Federal Protective Service, a sub-agency of the DHS, intends to hire “armed Protective Security Officer (PSO) services at various locations throughout the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin.” “The project will have a requirement for the contractor to have a Top Secret facility clearance by the start of performance,” states the FPS notice. Unlike previous solicitations, which normally detail how the guards will be deployed to protect government buildings, the document does not divulge what role the armed security force will undertake. The fact that the contractors being hired must have a “Top Secret” security clearance clearly suggests that the DHS is not merely seeking to hire armed guards, but Blackwater-style mercenaries who will be engaged in some kind of clandestine activity. (4) Military Purge Surge: Obama Fires Another Commander - WND -  After multiple top generals described to WND what they regard as a full-scale “purge” of the U.S. military by the Obama administration, the commander of U.S. Army Garrison Japan was summarily relieved of duty and his civilian deputy reassigned, pending a “misconduct” investigation. Nine generals and flag officers have been relieved of duty under Obama just this year – widely viewed as an extraordinary number – and several sources put the total number of senior officers purged during the five years of the Obama administration as close to 200. In response, prominent retired generals – ranging from Army Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely, a Fox News senior military analyst, to Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin, a founder of the Army’s elite Delta Force, to Medal of Honor recipient Maj. Gen. Patrick Henry Brady – have all gone on the record with WND, characterizing Obama’s actions as nothing less than an all-out attack on America’s armed forces. According to U.S. Army Japan, Col. Eric Tilley was suspended from his job by Maj. Gen. James C. Boozer Sr., commander of U.S. Army Japan and I Corps (Forward) for a “lack of confidence” based on the results of an inquiry. Revealed: Obama Campaign Bundler Helping Fund Libertarian in Tight Virginia Governor's Race - The Blaze - A major Democratic Party benefactor and Obama campaign bundler helped pay for professional petition circulators responsible for getting Virginia Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Robert C. Sarvis on the ballot — a move that could split conservative votes in a tight race. Campaign finance records show the Libertarian Booster PAC has made the largest independent contribution to Sarvis’ campaign, helping to pay for professional petition circulators who collected signatures necessary to get Sarvis’ name on Tuesday’s statewide ballot. Austin, Texas, software billionaire Joe Liemandt is the Libertarian Booster PAC’s major benefactor. He’s also a top bundler for President Barack Obama. This revelation comes as Virginia voters head to the polls Tuesday in an election where some observers say the third-party gubernatorial candidate could be a spoiler for Republican Ken Cuccinelli. A spokesman for Sarvis provided no direct answers late Monday when TheBlaze asked about Liemandt’s Democrat ties and whether Sarvis had been recruited to split conservative votes as a way to aid Democrat Terry McAuliffe. “We’re coordinating Sarvis interviews with Richmond, Norfolk and Charlottesville TV news teams to reach Virginia voters – our first priority – on Election Eve,” John Vaught LaBeaume, Sarvis communications director and strategist, responded in an email to TheBlaze. (2) Rush Limbaugh - Barack Obama - National Joke - is Telling Virginians Who to Make Their Governor - RUSH: The Obamacare rollout continues. Something amazing is going on here, too. There's an election tomorrow in Virginia. It's for governor. And there's something amazing to me going on in this race. Terry McAuliffe, who is... I'm trying to think of a term that'll avoid a slander suit. We called him The Punk here when he was the consigliore and the capo for the Clintons. I am stunned that somebody like this could possibly be elected governor. Anyway, Obama's in there campaigning for him. Obama has become a national joke. We have a Gallup daily poll, he's at 40%. This is October 30 through November 2nd. Obama's at 40%. This Obamacare rollout is embarrassing the media. It's embarrassing Obama. It is a huge problem. There are continuing stories, we have 'em in the Stack today, continued stories about people, one in the Wall Street Journal, somebody said, "I'm not even political. I'm just somebody that's lost my health insurance." I've got two examples, one in the Seattle Times one in the Wall Street Journal, and they are indicative of what's happening all over this country with insurance and health care and Obamacare. Obama's running in and he's campaigning for McAuliffe. Every word out of Obama's mouth now is a lie, and everybody knows this. I mean, can you imagine if Obama decided to do gun control next and said, "If you like your gun, you get to keep it"? Would you now believe him? Read more..........

(3) A Blow to Conservatism? A Look at Tuesday's Elections for Governor in New Jersey and Virginia.  What They May Indicate for the Future - The Blaze - Perhaps the only things as predictable as the results of Tuesday’s gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey are what the media reactions to the outcomes will be. That’s the view of Rick Trader, host of the Conservative Commandos syndicated radio show in New Jersey, and others who anticipate a particular narrative from pundits. “If Ken Cuccinelli loses and Chris Christie wins, which he will, the mantra you will hear fromboth the mainstream media and the mainstream Republican Party — the same mainstream Republican Party that sees Ted Cruz and Mike Lee as a threat to their power — will be that it was a blow to conservatism,” Trader told TheBlaze.Meanwhile, in Virginia, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe, a former Democratic National Committee chairman, has maintained a lead over conservative Republican Ken Cuccinelli, a Tea Party favorite who gained national fame as the first state attorney general to litigate against Obamacare. (5) Ron Paul to Virginians - 'Insane to Vote for Libertarian' Robert Sarvis - Breitbart On Monday, former Congressman and staunch libertarian Ron Paul (R-TX) campaigned for Virginia Republican Governor candidate Ken Cuccinelli and said Virginias would be giving up on liberty if they voted for Democrat Terry McAuliffe in Tuesday's election and would be "insane" if they voted for so-called libertarian Robert Sarvis, the third-party candidate who may siphon enough votes from Cuccinelli to spoil the election. Specifically referring to the mileage taxes that Sarvis indicated he may support and which may require GPS systems to be installed in everyone's cars, Paul said "anybody who would conceivably vote for someone who would endorse a mileage tax" is "insane" because a mileage tax would be an "invasion of privacy" and would just give the government more money it could waste. In an interview on MSNBC, Sarvis indicated that he could support "vehicle-miles-driven taxes." Appearing with Cuccinelli, Paul also noted that Cuccinelli would cut taxes and would not support any new taxes. He said though Cuccinelli may not be in the Libertarian Party, he's a "Constitutionalist, so he's an ally." Read more..........

Cuccinelli Casts Virginia Election as Referendum on Obamacare - Washington Times - Republican Kenneth T. Cuccinelli got a boost from two midwestern Republican heavyweights Saturday as he tried to spur his voters to the polls by casting Tuesday’s gubernatorial election as a referendum on President Obama’s health care overhaul. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, who grew up in Wisconsin, and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker stumped for Mr. Cuccinelli Saturday afternoon after the state’s attorney general started his day in the Richmond area.“I’m here today, along with the support from other governors across the country, to testify that Ken Cuccinelli has what it takes to be a great leader for this state,” Mr. Walker said at a get-out-the-vote rally in Prince William County. “This is someone who throughout his entire adult career has fought for the hardworking taxpayers in the commonwealth…this guy was the first guy in America to stand up and point out the problems with Obamacare - the problems that not only Virginia now knows, the entire country now knows, is the problems with Obamacare.” Indeed, Mr. Cuccinelli was the first attorney general in the country to sue over the law after it was passed in March 2010, and has gone all in recently on highlighting the botched roll-out and issues with healthcare.gov as a key difference between he and Democrat Terry McAuliffe.  Read more........

Republicans Can and Should Believe They Can Win Tuesday - Bearing DriftWhen you look at the atmosphere in Washington DC – the Affordable Care Act fiasco, government shutdown, Benghazi, NSA wiretaps, a war in Afghanistan that we’ve all but forgotten – it’s pretty easy to get cynical about government, in general. And, when you look back at the last six months of the Virginia campaign, it’s also pretty easy to get discouraged about the chances of Republicans winning next Tuesday. However, now is not the time for navel-gazing. Now is time for Virginia conservatives to snap out of what I can only observe as a collective self-interested funk. If not, we’re on pace for a Governor McAuliffe. Here are some reasons to be optimistic as we head down the home-stretch: First, while Shaun Kenney might be right not to get too excited about recent polling, it still is a heck of a lot better than going the other direction. If McAuliffe had double-digit leads in any of these polls, what would we be saying? Instead we’re quibbling about how polls are being conducted. I take that as a good sign. Read more.......

(2) Virginia Democrats Call for Forcing Doctors to Accept Medicare and Medicaid Patients - Mason Conservative - You would think that when your party is burying a hole that is getting harder and harder to get out of, you wouldn't want to that hole get deeper faster. But here is Kathleen Murphy, Democrat running for the House of Delegates against Barbara Comstock, telling a forum in Great Falls that she believes it should law to force doctors to accept Medicare and Medicaid patients. Forced by government decree, mind you. A birdie sent me this: FYI last night at the Great Falls Grange debate, Democrat delegate candidate Kathleen Murphy said that since many doctors are not accepting medicaid and medicare patients, she advocates making it a legal requirement for those people to be accepted. She did not recognize that the payments are inadequate to cover the doctors' costs. She also did not recognize there is a shortage of over 45,000 physicians now and that it is forecast to be 90,000 in a few years. Democrats appear to want to make physicians slaves of the state, but Democrats don't admit they would just drive more doctors out of practice into retirement and other occupations. Read more.......

(3) Election Integrity Activists: Obamacare Biggest Voter Registration Fraud Scheme in History - Breitbart - Conservatives point to the Obamacare website exploiting a strange loophole in the National Voting Rights Act to question whether the President's signature healthcare law had a political motive, as well. Several election integrity activists have alleged that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), or Obamacare, does not appear to have been an effort to conduct healthcare reform to fix what was described in 2009 and 2010 as a broken healthcare system. The law passed Congress with just Democratic Party support. Instead of being an honest attempt to fix America’s healthcare woes, I think [it] is the biggest voter registration fraud scheme in the history of the world,” said Gregg Phillips, the founder of the election integrity group Voters Trust, in an interview with Breitbart News Wednesday morning. Phillips and Catherine Engelbrecht of True The Vote, another election integrity group, cite as proof what left-wing organizations are saying about how they plan to use Obamacare. Demos, a left-wing organization funded by liberal billionaire George Soros, published a report earlier this year titled: “Building a Healthy Democracy: Registering 68 Million People to Vote Through Health Benefit Exchanges.” On page six of the report, author Lisa Danetz argues that Obamacare “will enroll 68 million individuals.”  Read more.........

(4) S. Fred Singer - Non Governmental Climate Scientists Slam the UN's IPCC - American ThinkerThe United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released a final version of their Summary for Policy Makers (SPM) of its fifth assessment report (AR5) on September 27, 2013. This new SPM reveals that the IPCC has retreated from about a dozen alarmist claims promulgated in its previous reports or by scientists who are prominently associated with the IPCC. Their SPM also contains more than a dozen misleading or untrue statements, plus about another dozen statements that mislead readers or misrepresent important aspects of the science. Two weeks before the UN-IPCC released its report, an alternative report was released by the Nongovernmental Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC). Unlike the UN-IPCC, NIPCC's charter is to investigate causes and consequences of climate change from all perspectives rather than just to search for a human impact on climate change. This NIPCC report, titled "Climate Change Reconsidered - II: Physical Science" contradicts many of the IPCC's findings. It is available online at www.climatechangereconsidered.org. Read more.......

(2) Catholic University Alumni Reject McAuliffe - Bearing Drift - Terry McAuliffe and I share something in common — both of us had the privilege of attending the Catholic University of America. Not all of us got the same education out of that experience, so it would seem… and there are several CUA alumni who are none too happy about the reputation of Catholic University or the Catholic Church being silently dragged into the mud. The following is a press statement from CUA Alumni Against Terry McAuliffe — worth every word: Increasingly outraged by Terry McAuliffe’s gubernatorial campaign, alumni of the Catholic University of America are denouncing McAuliffe’s use of his Alma Mater to promote his campaign. The ad hoc group of alumni is speaking out in light of Terry McAuliffe’s support for abortion on-demand and Obamacare, which forces Catholics and Catholic institutions to pay for coverage of abortion inducing drugs. “Terry repeatedly tells voters he is a practicing Catholic and graduate of The Catholic University of America, while at the same time his campaign attacks the Catholic Church and Her teachings,” said Mary Beth Style, M.S.W., who graduated a year after Mr. McAuliffe. However it is an unfortunate but true fact that many of our police departments and our 911 dispatchers will receive calls like this on a regular basis. Actually, almost on a daily basis for some departments. Geographically speaking, large cities, especially cities that tend to restrict certain gun ownership rights seem to be the worst. Like Chicago. As a former police officer, homicide detective and periodic dispatcher for the law enforcement departments that I served over the years, I have personally taken my fair share of these types of calls. None of them are the same, and yet all of them are seemingly alike. For many of us, we will sign up for a concealed carry firearms course, take a home defense class or even attend a local martial arts school in order to learn how to protect ourselves from the wolves of our society. Either that or we can listen to our “sheep handler politicians” by hiding or cowering in our homes, underneath our desks in our offices, or in a closet within our schools, hoping that the police will arrive in time. (4) Democrat Bill Would Let Obama Increase Debt Limit; Congress Wouldn't Need to Vote - CNS News - Democratic senators have introduced legislation that would grant President Barack Obama, and subsequent presidents, the authority to increase the legal limit on the federal government's debt unless Congress subsequently voted to disapprove the increase. The bill would effectively take elected members of Congress off the hook for approving an increase in the debt. If the president certified that he was going to increase the debt limit, Congress could simply let him do it without taking a vote--and putting members on the record. Article 1, Section 8, Clause 2 of the Constitution gives Congress, not the president, the power to borrow money. It says: "Congress shall have power ... to borrow money on the credit of the United States." Sens. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) have introduced the Pay Our Bills Act, which would “permanently allow Congress to disapprove debt ceiling increases, instead of approving them.” Read more.........

The United Nation’s global plan for “sustainable development” might not sound nefarious, but many of its opponents say it threatens the very fabric of American life. The policy signed by 179 world leaders in Rio de Janeiro in 1992, has largely stayed under the radar, but it has never gone away.Since President George H.W. Bush first signed onto Agenda 21, the International Council of Local Environmental Initiatives, or ICLEI, has been established to help local governments across the globe implement the group’s environmental and development policies. More than 450 U.S. cities and counties in 46 states have become members, according to the organization’s website. Additionally, more than 1,000 major cities around the globe are also members. While Congress has never approved Agenda 21, both Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama signed executive orders supporting the initiative. TheBlaze TV’s For The Record takes an in-depth look at how Agenda 21 is being implemented in communities throughout the United States in Wednesday night’s new episode, “The Agenda” (9 p.m. ET). Opponents of Agenda 21 told “For the Record” it’s something every American should understand because it guts property rights and civil liberties in an effort to establish a socially-engineered global society. McAuliffe Poll Shock: Democrat Up by Only 4 Points in Virginia Governor's Race - Washington Times - With some polls showing the Virginia governor’s race tightening in its final days, Republicans and Democrats are looking to manipulate a bloc of libertarian voters who have withheld their support from the major parties but who could swing the hotly contested race if they return to the fold for Election Day. A Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday showed Republican Kenneth T. Cuccinelli II trimming Democrat Terry McAuliffe’s lead in the Virginia governor’s race to 4 percentage points, suggesting the contest is much closer than some analysis has indicated. PHOTOS: Eye-popping excuses in American political scandals The survey gave Mr. McAuliffe a lead of 45 percent to 41 percent, with 9 percent of likely voters opting for Libertarian candidate Robert Sarvis. That advantage is down from 46 percent to 39 percent for Mr. McAuliffe in a Quinnipiac poll last week, when Mr. Sarvis had 10 percent.  Read more.......
